Hello All,

I may have to replace my 2 deep cycle batrtrerys for the coach. I was wondering what brand you suggest and why.

Thanks

Discover AGM batteries. AGM means you can take battery water off your check list for maintenance. Discover is the battery used by Newmar as the battery of choice for their high line coaches. I bought 4 of them in January 2008. So far do good.

I paid $295 per battery. My dealer (North Trail RV, Ft. Myers, Florida) had the best price.

OUCH!! I like the no water deal and clean battery compartment. Just had mine cleaned & repainted. Shouldn't need it after only two years.

Interstate says if their batteries require adding water, something is wrong with them. Have them checked.

We purchased two Platinum Brand AGM batteries from Sears a year ago. They work great and require no maintenance.

Yes, Sears has great prices , I replace one then decided to add 2 more for boondocking, with the platium AGM seal battery after two years and no problems.

A very common question is what battery is best

For Flooded wet cells (The standard type) Trojan, However I'm not convinced Trojan's are worth their price, Interstate or US Battery U-2200 or US2200 are equivalent to the Trojan T-105 all are 232 amp hours at six volt true deep cycle.

AGM's. I keep reading all sorts of "Advantages" to AGM's and the biggest advantage I see is profit for the sales clerk. Now, AGM's are usually true deep cycle (Save for some Optima types) and it's true they are maintenance free, but Xantrex says to charge 'em at 30 percent, ame as Flooded wet cells, and they cost lots more.

I'd go with Six volts, if your local Costco has US-Battery go with them.. I'd avoid Johnson Controls

I have heard of Trojan's lasting 9-10 years or more, Interstae 5-7 or more

ONE Johnson 9 years (I've never had one that did not qualify for warranty exchange)
