Deteriorating Leather seats

08 Damon Daybreak 3578. I purchased the MH new in 08 and have about 32,000 miles. the driver and passenger seats are not wearing well. The leather is comming off. It seems a little early to have this kind of wear. The fold out couch is also showing signs, not as bad, but I think its only a matter of time. Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and it Damon/Thor might step up.

We bought a 2008 Damon Challenger 378 last year with 16,000 miles on it. The driver and copilot seats are cracking and we will need to have them fixed. The couch looks to be in good shape for now. It would be great if it could be taken care of. I think our seats are made by Flexsteel maybe they should help also.

They are probably not leather but leatherette which is a vinyl product and should be treated as such.

We have not used any cleaning products on the seats, maybe a damp cloth if that.

I would clean them with a vinyl cleaner and then apply 303 protectant. We used it on our previous coach that was 18 years old and the seats were still in excellent condition. UV is the enemy on all vinyl.

I have a 2009 Damon Daybreak 3575 and the vinyl on the drivers seat is also coming off. The passenger and sofa are fine. Will be interesting to see how many other Damon owners are having this problem.

Our 2008 captians chairs are starting to crack too. Have been maintained well and the coach is stored covered. Its just cheap vinyl. Will likely have to be recovered or replaced in the next few years.

The driver's seat in our 2008 Damon Astoria is also cracking and showing wear. The Passenger's seat is good. They are Flexsteel and seem to be very poor quality. I'm sure I'll have to either buy new ones or get new seat covering. Not a happy camper when it comes to the driver's chair.

I see it on the left armrest of the driver's seat in my 2008 Astoria. This is after three years and 27,000 miles on a coach that is kept in covered storage.

Check out leatherique.com

I have used his products on many vintage Mercedes projects: some with MB Tex vinyl and some with insanely thick leather. All of the products to prep and finish are available on his website. If it is an identifiable dye color/code; he can just mix and ship. If not, you have to cut a sample from an obscure area and send it in.

My results have been nothing short of spectacular.

For severely cracked leather; he has a filler that works so well you won't be able to tell there was even a crack.

I'm in no way affiliated with leatherique....just a VERY satisfied customer.
