New to this sight and fairly new to RVing. Recently pruchased a new left over 2007 Damon Astoria 3774. It's the white gray and red one and on the passenger side the big red decal shows signs of discoloration. I told my husband that it appears that under the decal there might be rust forming. Has anyone encountered this problem and did Damon take care of it.

If you are the first owner, and it isn't off lease from the dealer, then your warranty started when you took delivery If you have owned it for less than the length of the warranty then the dealer should take care of it under warranty. If you read the Magnuson-Moss Act of 1975 it should tell you everything you should know.

I was informed that there is a problem with the red decals on the 2007 astorias. The dealer has replaced several decals on similar models only for them to return with other decals needing to be replaced. They are going to contact Damon and ask about maybe painting the red decals on to alleviate the problem. I'll keep you posted

an update on the red decals on 2007 astoria. Damon is only replacing red decals on these units. The dealer we bought our Astoria from has had to replace(on several units) the red decals on the white, grey and red astorias. Any one else out there have this problem with discoloration on the red decals? Please respond. Thanks

I have a 2007 Astoria 3773, but to this date do not seem to have a problem with the decals. But mine are not red, they are gray/silver and white.
However now I see an area on the passenger side at the bottom of the awning arm and above it between the window and awning arm that looks rough (like rust can be forming UNDER the paint, but someone mentioned it probably wasn't rust, but perhaps delamination.) The areas are not small, top one about 12 inches round, the one below it by about a foot and a half, 6-8inches round.
Not sure what is going on there. So will take it to a repair place today (hopefully) to see what they say.
My dealership is 800+ miles away, and are of no use anyway.
Let me know what happens.
We have dealt with the Damon factory and they were very nice.
Of course our warranty ran out this past July.

I just realized that the original post was from June, so hopefully this was resolved by now.
Was it Mickel??

What the dealer did was replaced the red decals with new ones. Ours is model number 3774 and is white with gray, black and red decals. There was a problem with the red decals which made them discolor and dark looking spot like mold was forming on them. what i'm afraid of is that these will do the same only by then our warranty will be out. We purchased this one as a new left over from 2007 in january of 2008.I don't want to pay to replace these decals in 6 to 8 months at my expense when the problem is faulty decals from the start.
Getting back to your's.I have the 2007 Astoria brochure and the only white Astoria they made that year was with black, gray and red decals. So what happened to your red decals? Go to damonrv.com and click on literature and pick 2007 and bring up the brochure and on page 6 it will show the color of Astorias for that year. These units are to be fiberglass so there should be no rust forming on that. Good Luck to you.

Hi Mickel, I forgot to mention that mine was the Pacific Edition model, which had a full paint job. And funny you should mention looking at the brochure, thats exactly what I did. I have the one on the cover..it is only grey and white decals, right? or did I just not see the red? Have to look again. Wouldn't that be funny if I didn't even know it??
I did stop at an RV repair place yesterday and they said it looks like the beginning of delamination. He suggested to just seal it and no further damage would happen, because he said to cut that area out and repair it would be a really big job. Wasn't happy with that. A 2007 model and I'm going to use bandaids? I don't think so.
So came home and called Damon, explained the situation, and that we were out of warranty JUST a month. He said since it was so recent, he would repair it for us under warranty. Just the answer we wanted. Rather have them do it.
We will see how bad it is when they go to repair it. Since it right by the awning arm, I think maybe the screws to hold the awning weren't sealed well, and it allowed water to get in.
Glad you got your decals replaced, but maybe you should call Damon just to see if they have any other alternative for you in the future? in case those fade out again?
They have been very nice to us.
Sue

That is great Sue that they're willing to fix it still under warranty. I'm going to try calling them and giving them my concerns on the red decals. It surely can't hurt. Good luck with your astoria.
