My doghouse carpet transition to step area is wearing out. It gets worse with each time I step into drivers seat. It looks bad. I'd like to find a solution.

I've thought about removing dog house and having colored matching bed liner applied. Also would consider a diamond pattern for where my foot goes. Rubberized products would produce to much odor.

Because I need to take doghouse off I'd also need to consider ease of removal. Not sure how I'd transition to dog house.

Any ideas?
