JD101's post reminded me of something I have been meaning to ask but somehow never remember to do. Am I cursed or what? The last two MH we have had seem to have a rattle inside the entry door. Both are/have been decent coaches.
It sounds like something is loose inside the door and bangs when we hit a bridge approach or a bit of rough pavement.
The Horizon had an inside cover held on with industrial velcro, but I was never able to get inside the door to find what was causing the banging and this Essence has begun to do the same thing, although not as loud.
The cover on the Essence is plastic or vinyl and will actually move maybe an eight of an inch if I push in close to the middle of the door. It has remote/electric locks but the noise seems to be coming from further down in the door than the lock area.
I have threatened to drill a couple of holes and fill the door with expanding foam, but then got worried I might gum up something or cause the door to bulge if I got too much. Ideas?

You can try to isolate the rattle with a length of 3/4 heater hose held against the door and listen to the other end. It should reveal the noise within a few inches of it's source hopefully by shaking the door.

If you're careful, you can get a few cans of DAP spray latex foam at a building store and inject it in some 1/4" holes. It doesn't expand much and dries to a very soft consitency compared to Great Stuff. Kind of like rubberized shaving cream. I'm sure it will hold parts from rattling if that's the case. It comes in a short blue and white can.
Good luck, Expo
