Looking for a oil and air filter for my 2007 Challenger 372 (ford F53). Am I wrong is the F-53 chassi the same as the F-550? Most places have books to look up the correct number but usually don't have the F-53 chassi in the book. I use K&N oil filters in both my cars, would like to use the same in the motohome if they make it. I have read that Motorcraft makes a good filter. Thinking of synthetic oil, but I read good things and bad things about it. It only has 500 miles on it, but it sat on the dealer lot for almost a year (the chassi is a 2006) not sure if they did a oil change, probably not. Just been using it for weekend trips for now but going on a two week vacation in July.

I'd think you could go to K&N's website and find a crossover table using the Motorcraft numbers from your owner's manual. I just changed my oil but have forgotten what the oil filter number was, (but WalMart had 'em in stock). I can check my owner's manual if you want me to.
I've used the synthetic oil in our motorcycles and am very pleased with it. I haven't decided on whether or not to change over the MH.
I'd go ahead and put few thousand more miles on it if I were you. If it's only got 500 miles on it now, it hasn't run enough to build too many acids or corrosives in the oil, and I doubt that it's spoiled.
We bought our '06 Daybreak in Nov. of '07 and just got to 5000 miles (actually 4880) so just changed it, in anticipation of a few upcoming trips.
Watch the genset change interval, our first change is(was) at 25 hours.
Happy trails!,
Scott

The Motorcraft number for the oil filter is 820S and Walmart has them in stock. They also have the Motorcraft 5W20 semi synthetic oil for $10.48 per gal. The V10 holds 6 quarts with filter. I would stick with the Motorcraft oil and filters till you hit the 3 years or 36000 miles so Ford can't denie any claims if you have problems with the motor.

Made a mistake. The Motorcraft oil is in a 5 qt container not 4 quart.

I just checked K&N's website and they apparently don't have an air filter but the oil filter number is HP-2010.

Of the 4 Class As I've known, and I owned 3 the other is my F-I-Ls, all had a chassis that was older than the coach.
