First Fall weekend trip for us

The wife and I are going on a weekend camping trip to northern lower Michigan to camp with two of our grandkids. One is a 13 year old granddaughter and the other is her 5 year old brother.

Highs are supposed to be in the mid 50s.

Wish us luck.

I'm jealous! That's a perfect time to camp; nice cool evenings so that the campfire feels great, jeans and sweatshirts. I would imagine you're starting to see some fall colors up there now too. Good luck, and enjoy it. The kids will remember it forever.

We had an absolutely fabulous time! Friday we arrived at the site a little later than planned, because we stopped at a couple of places. Called my son and they came over to drop the kids off, it is just under 5 miles between the campground and where the kids live. It started raining Friday night and into Saturday morning. No big deal we have a whole slew of kid friendly movies, then the sun came out for the rest of the weekend. Saturday night we had a big fire and the grandkids had Smores.

It was cold with the highs in the low to mid-fifties but we had a great time. The trees are just starting to turn around here and with last night's heavy frost things will accelerate. Next weekend is probably the one we should have camped because the highs are supposed to be in the seventies oh,well.
