I am installing an inverter that has the capability of a remote monitoring and control panel. I would like to install this remote control panel inside my coach, right next to the coach's monitoring control center (the panel where you can monitor the tank levels and house battery, turn on and off the water heater, and bring the slides in and out, etc.).

I am searching for general or specific information on how I could fish a wire into this inside wall in my RV. I have a 2007 Damon Challenger 376 (bunk floorplan) and my coach monitoring control center is located on an interior wall between the hallway and the bathroom. The wall is directly above the location of the water tanks, so I am afraid to use a flexible drill bit and drill through the floor because I might end up penetrating my fresh water tank.

Any general tips on how to fish wire in an RV would be appreciated. Any specific information regarding my model would be awesome as well.

Thanks
Mark

Mark, my bathroom has a access panel just below the monitor panel your talking about. You could try removing it and checking to see if there is any access. You should be able to get to the compartment area from this access panel.

Most electrician have device to fish wire called fish tape. I'm not sure if you can rent or borrow one. If you can locate one, figure out exactly where hole and wire will go - pull the control panel, locate the wire run, then drill a new hole from the bottom or make room around the existing wire loom, fish the tape from one point to the other. It's easier to go top to bottom.

Thanks for the tips. I actally am one of those geeks that own a fish tape (and a 4' flexible drill bit, and some fiberglass push rods) - don't ask what I do in my spare time around the house

My concern is that the freshwater tank is located directly below this wall. I don't want to drill down "blindly", because I am afraid I might drill into the tank.

Has anyone ever fished wire through the ceiling members themselves, horizontally from one side to another. (Not thru the roof, but in the ceiling). Maybe I could go up and over to the kitchen cabinet, and then once inside the cabinet, run down the inside.
