I have a 2007 Damon 372 model with the Ford F53 chassi. We are going to take our first long trip in it this July (I figure about 2300 miles)for two weeks. Just trying to figure a budget for gas, with the price going up every other day it is hard. But the short weekend trips we have taken I have never really checked the gas mileage, anyone have a estimate for the 372? I realize the way you drive can change the mileage, but a rough estimate would at least get me in the ball park for budget. Thanks

Here are some POST's on gas mileage on Fords old and new. When I had the Ford V-10's could get between 6-7 mpg. With the new transmission must people are getting at least 8-9 mpg.
Alot depends how much water and load in compartments you may have, the less water and heavy items in compartments will help to improve your mpg. Proper tire inflation will help also.

So far I have less than 5000 miles on mine and I already am getting over 9mpg.
I am sure that all these Fords are getting different numbers because of driving styles, length of coaches, total weight carried, amount of weight towed, plus speed driven. Also Ambient temprature, type of terrain, wind speed, wind direction, and using cruise or not.
In my case at least I can tell you it was hot and windy, my coach is 32 ft, I tow a 2 horse trailer with 1 horse about 3000 pounds total. The Terrain here in lower Michigan is mostly flat. I drove 60 with the cruise on. I have never had the MH weighed fully loaded.

Just got back from a trip this past weekend and it is the first time I actually checked accurately and was surprised to find out I was only getting 7.5 mpg. Before I was guessing about 8 or 9. I only had about 1/4 tank of fresh water and waste tanks were empty. I am also usually pretty heavy on the accelerator, but took it easy just to get an accurate check on driving conservatively. For our trips now, I will figure the 7.5. John H....

I got a new 377c with the F53 chassis last September. It had less than 400 miles on it. Today I am on the road on an extended trip, in Western Virginia. I also have a ScanGuage II, for constant MPG readout.
When I filled up today after 287 miles I got 9.7 mpg. I have been getting between the high 7s to high 9s, pulling a 2,900 lb toad. I try to move with traffic, but keep my top speed under 65mph. I also burn Ford Factory recommended 87 octane.
Also, my dash fuel guage is off about 1/8 to 1/4. Guage shows more than actual contents. I keep the trip odometer turned on and go by distance from last fill, not the guage.

I just returned home to Georgia from Florida about a 450 mile trip each way in my 07 Challenger 377. Got 7.5 mpg going down and 8 mpg coming back. Just cracked 5,000 miles on the coach. Drove 5 mph under the posted speed limits.

I recently bought a 371 with the Workhorse chassis. I see most of the milage posts are with the Ford. Anyone know how the 2 chassis's compare as to mileage?
