I thought I would give everyone a chance to follow me through the process of contacting the factory and getting needed service done. I purchased a 2006 355 Challenger in Sept. 2007. 3 weeks later we left S. Dak. for 6 months in FL. Pretty dry season until Feb. when we started getting some heavy rains. Water ran into the furnace compartment and shorted out the circuit board hence not allowing the furnace to start. Wipe out the water and let board dry out and worked. Followed this procedure about 10 times. I contacted the factory so I would have a record of problem on file. I told them I would wait until we returned to SD and have my dealer fix the problem. They acknowledged and said problem on file. Coach was dropped off at dealer late April. We were in no hurry as we were not planning on using the MH until late summer. We let the dealer know 30 days in advance when we would be picking it up and did so late July. We were told that all problems were taken care of and we were on our way. Sept 3rd we moved into the MH full time. Big rain Sept 8th and temp down to 50 at night. Funrace compartment filled with water and shorted out elec. system and furnace would not run. Dried out and furnace again working. I call Damon explained the problem and was told that the dealer needs to fix under warranty. I told them he had first shot at it and could I bring it into Elkhart. He said yes and passed me onto lady that makes appointments. Well she was gone for day so left info and phone number. Waiting for a call back now. Will give them until noon as I was told would hear back in AM. I have heard good things about Damons warranty service so hoping that is true. My dealer has offered to try again to find the problem but my feeling is what if he says it is fixed and we end up in FL and once again the same problem. I figure Damon built it and should have a better idea how to fix it. Our plans are to start our trip South Oct. 3rd arriving Ft. Myers Nov. 1st. Granted the side trip will cost us some out of pocket expense but it is a problem that needs to be fixed. I will keep you updated as we proceed.

I am with you. I have a 2006 Challenger 348F and I have the same issue. I just dry the board and I am up and running. Seems like they should have a fix for this. I have prevented it by tilting my RV with a slight forward down and right tilt to have the water run away from the board in bad weather.

Dakotarider.....hope all goes well with you..
April Connor makes the appointments, and she has always been very nice....BUT I hope you can get an appt. that will be good for you time-wise.
When we went she came out to go over our RV with us, although she had our work order already.
We had the choice of either staying in our RV (which is right outside the work stalls in their parking lot) or leave it and come back.
We had left it, but met 2 other couples that were staying in theirs nightly waiting for the repairs to be done.
The factory repair place is not large at all...only 3 bays for repair, but while we were waiting one day took the factory tour at 3pm which was rather interesting.
Good luck, and happy travels.

Talked to April today and she has us set for Oct 7th. Our plan was to head South Oct 4th so this works out just fine. Will keep all informed.

I have made two visits to Damon's Warranty plant (12) and will tell you of my expierence

First: My Intruder came with the optional self removing windshield, This is what prompted my first visit (the 2nd was a drive by kind of, more on that later) after having it re-set twice, first time by Guardian Glass in Detroit (Negative recommendation on them) and the 2nd by Dave Simpson in Las Vegas (Very positive recommendation) Dave told me what he did not like about the job and told Wheelers (now Las Vegas RV) and they told Damon.

I was scheduled to visit Berring Springs, MICH for an event and Damon scheduled the visit for the next day (VERY NICE OF THEM) this means it was only 30 miles out of my way (I mean it's that far to the dealer!!!!!)

Next I showed up late at night but they had a 30 amp cord for me to plug into.. They promised a knock on the door by 9:30, 7:30 just as we finished breakfast.. KNOCK KNOCK.. We penned the kitties (i have a cat cage, custom made for the job) and hopped in the towed for a trip to some friends and a movie

We also told them about a few other issues that had cropped up.. The last on the way there from Berrien Springs (Dash AC not cold, DASH "Farkled" on the driver info portion)

All were fixed even though only the windshield was scheduled.. I made a friend in the A/C guy (who by the way also drives an Intruder)

I'd call it a very positive expierence.

Visit #2... ON my next trip west the benzel around the fuel filler cracked.. I dropped in just to pick up a new one, I mean it's only about 10 minutes, tops, to replace it, no hoist needed, no need to get down and dirty (You do it standing up) and not only did they get me a new benzel.. They bolted it on...

Wi-Fi in the customer lounge, free coffee

And if you are a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose a lovely lodge (NO RV hookups, if you can believe that) just around the corner !!!!

Here is my follow up on warranty work. Appointment was for Oct 7. April said it would help to drop it off the day before so they could get at it first thing in the morning. They are open from 7am to 3:30pm. Dropped it off around noon on the 6th. April said good chance they may have it done that day. We went and checked into a hotel. Didn't hear anything so assumed they didn't get at it. Waited for a call on Tuesday the 7th not hearing I called as I would need to keep the room for another night if not done. April was all apologetic but they had to put a unit in front of mine so my appointment meant nothing. OK so should be done on Wed the 8th. We figured if it got done early afternoon we would just stay another nite. No call so called and got voice mail and left a message at 1pm. Called again at 2pm left another message then decided to drive over to shop. Well it was done and had been done since 10am that morning. April said they had been having phone problems. I guess no one had a cell phone. Picked it up at 8:15 this morning. Was setting outside with keys in it ready to go. Had to run down the shop guy and ask a few questions as to what they found ect. I was satisfied they fixed the leak as they found it. Hopefully that was the problem. Fixed under warranty.....but...xtra miles to Elkhart, hotel, meals....Approx $400.00....My dealer was unable to fix the problem so had no other choice. If problem is solved I will be satisfied.

Hi Ken and Toni...glad you posted the update, I was wondering what had happened. We dropped mine off on the 13th for repair on the way back from New Mexico. Left it there and drove my toad home to NY.

Hopefully eveything is fixed well, and thats the end of the problem.
At least the gas prices are going down a bit now.
