Heated mirrors not working...

Weird situation here. 2002 Damon Intruder on a Workhorse W22. Velvac powered and heated mirrors. The power mirrors work fine as long as the heat switch is turned off. The light on the heat switch comes on when I adjust the mirrors and goes off when i release the mirror switch, so it works.

Odd part is that the heat switch indicator light does not come on when I turn it on, so I'm guessing that I'm getting no heat to the units. The 15 amp fuse for the heated mirrors is OK as the mirrors themselves work fine, so long as the heat switch is not turned on. They won't move if the heat switch is turned on.

Has anybody run across this? Am I actually getting mirror heat even though the indicator light doesn't come on?

Four things can cause that, a poor ground and, a loose connection, wires touching between the two functions, faulty switch.

Thanks Ray. Oddest thing, went to the truck wash the other night and the heated mirror light came on. Is there a criteria that must be met for the mirror heat to work? For example does it have to be below a certain temperature? Maybe the engine has to be running? I've checked all the basics, fuses, wiring etc. and all seems good?

I don't know about temperature-controlled heated mirrors on a MH, autos with an outdoor temperature sensor do control heated mirrors. I'm sorry I can't be more help.
