my bbq project is nearing completion, little paint and some sealant and we are ready to cook

i used the rear passenger compartment for the bbq
1 pair of 200 lbs slides and 4 pr 100 lbs slides and we have up to 72" of extension to clear the rear door and allow for ample heat abatement, plus i can lower the door to allow closer in cooking if a heavy turkey is on the fire

i really wanted to use the water tank access door on the passenger side, because it swings out vice up, but due to clearance issues i would have had to have a water tank made that is 30" shorter in across the bay length
however i haven't given that up for a second arrangement for a burner

Hey powerboatr, those slides look like the slides that were used in the IBM 3330 disk drives. You didn't work for IBM by any chance did you?

but now that you said that...they sure do look like the ones i remember back in the dayyyyyyyyyyyy

Hi PB,
sure looks nice. I see that there are 4 sliders, how do the top 3 come into play? Will you use a portable fuel tank or run a line up front to the mounted tank?

My imagination isn't working to well today.

all four open out as the lower one reaches its draw. however the the extended length is 18" more than i needed so the slides really don't get full extension except the lower one that is a 24" slide 200lb one

i plumbed a tap into the coach lp system with a qd just aft of the rear door edge. then i have a 8' hose to connect to the grill, its a RVQII model

the lower slide is also longer than the depth of the compartment, so they extend out through the back wall and i made two cones to seal over them so road water stays out of the bay area

My S-I-L has a grill that attaches to the outside wall of his horse trailer just out side of the living quarters.

My only problem is I don't want to deal with all the grease that is in the out-gassing(smoke). I even make the wife move the electric pan to the other end of the picnic table away from the MH because it does leave grease on the side of the rig.

that was my major reason for getting it away from the rig. on the last rig it hung off the sidewall and made a heck of a mess
its far enough away now to not splatter

Nice job, good looking setup. I drew up plans for a similar setup but after taking our first outing in the RV I realized that our fridge would not hold all the stuff the DW thought we needed. I would not give up cold beer, so now that vacant compartment(under the awning) holds a 52 qt beer, wine and water cooler. It is self draining and the longer the trip the lighter the load. Can't do that with a BBQ grill. I didn't work for IBM so I had to buy the slides at Lowes. BTW my daughter works for IBM, maybe, just maybe I can empty another compartment for the BBQ. For now the liquids have priority.
