Why are there no tank heaters in the tuscany line?
does the basement stay warm enough to fend off frozen pipes?
or should i be putting some on how before winter sneaks up?

Some coaches use a ducted heat to the basement area. You may find a small duct from the furnace which blows heated air tot he basment are to prevent freesing of pipes and tanks. The heat pads work only on the tank and do little toward keeping the plumbing thawed.
We had an Avion 5er with a heated basement and had camped down to 17 dF and no tank problems with the heatd basement. We did run the 1500 watt electric heater in the RV to keep the furnace from running so much.

I did find a HOLE for hot air, but unlike my fiver i haven't found any heating pads or batts of insulation to give comfort to the tanks, I see a project for the next few days, the baggage doors are pretty thick, I may have to place some temps monitors in there and fire up the heater and see just how much air gets to em,
thanks

On my Damon Inruder furnace air gives me about 10 Degrees of "Wiggle room" (With the furnace running I"m good to 20 degrees or so they say) no heat pads in the tank bays
I did, however, add my own supplemental heat
There is a few inches of clearance under the fresh tank, I "Stuffed" a string of C-9 size outdoor christmas tree bulbs down there, 9 watts each, about 150 watts total
In the black/gray bay I stuffed a 100 watt rough service light bulb.
Gives me, Temp sensors show the wet compartments about 10 degrees above ambient with the tanks empty in the winter and the lights on (Testing mode)
The power lead for the lights (Extension cord) comes up alongside the fill tube into the water heater compartment on my rig, and from there out the access door to a nearby outlet
NOTE: though the 9 watt bulbs do not get hot enough to damage the plastic (I do have them on a T-stat 35 on 45 off) the 100 watt bulb will, make sure it's not touching anything it should not, I use a caged trouble light housing (Like a drop cord) for that one.

If you are using the propane furnace it sends heat to the tank bays to prevent freezing. The bay doors are insulated. Remember, you only have to keep the temp. above 32 degrees. I spent last winter with many nights in the teens and had no problems at all with my water or tanks.

The Tuscany has heat ducted from the propane heater to the basement which heats it up. It works well but does use a lot of propane to keep the entire coach warm.
We went to the Inaguration in January and it got down to 7 degrees at night and never got above freezing the entire time we were there. We used a couple of ceramic heaters in the coach to heat with instead of using all the propane up. So I got a $25 ceramic heater with a 'just above freezing' setting (about 40 degrees) and put it in the tanks bay and we never froze up at all the entire time.
We could have easily used the coach in colder weather than we experienced but since we are from Florida the single digits we experienced are more than cold enough for us.

thanks
i was knee deep in the tank bays yesterday, putting in a grey tank flusher, and plumbing it to the one hook up with a valve, i found a 4" HOLE in the upper floor and it appears to be a heater hole, sort of odd, it wasn't vented or ducted
I think some added foam board insulation is in order to block the cold from coming up around the tank drains, that little sump is thin plastic and would most certainly be a cold air magnet
btw, what floorplan do you have?

Robert, we've got a 2007 4055 with the Cat C7 engine. It was one of the first 4055's off the line when we got it two years ago.
You are correct on the thin plastic in the sump. That little ceramic heater we got was worth the $25 we paid for it. We never froze up at all, especially with a full water tank.

i am going to run a new outlet for the wet bay so i can put in some pipe wraps and maybe a small ceramic heater
or maybe we will head to south Florida for the winter
thanks

Better get your reservations in now for the South Florida trip. Things get booked up for those parks early. Join the snowbird migration south....

We spent last winter with several days in the mid teens and lower at night. Only issue I had was frozen dump valves. I put a light (25 watt bulb) in the bays with the dump valves and solved the problem. Also check the outdoor shower, mine (06 Damon Challenger) has the pipes running outside the basement. I disconnected the shower in the winter (since I wasn't planning to use it anyways) to avoid any possible issues.
