Inverter/charger question

Hi,
my inverter is the modified sine wave. I'm wondering if any of you know if it is producing 110 volt power while Iím plugged into shore power. I have a CPAP machine that says if I run it on modified sine wave it will damage the machine and that I should use a full sine wave inverter. But I'm a thinkin' that it should be ok while on shore power. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Ron

What kind of inverter is it? Most inverter-chargers transfer to line voltage when they are on shore power, so you should be OK. Most plain inverters that don't charge do not, so you would not be OK if you have one of those.

I know for a fact that Xantrex Freedom chargers transfer to line voltage on shore power, and believe all Magnum modified sine wave inverter-chargers do also.

My Xantrex Freedom 2000 in a 1999 Tradewinds transferrs all the AC to shore power when connected. I check it with a "O" Scope andfied Sign Wave when plugged in.
