Looking at buying a Damon
Howdy everyone! Im looking at buying a 2000 Intruder. Will it be a good solid rig for FTing? Any issues or complaints about them? I know about the batteries being a pain. Are house and chassis batteries located under the step? Also, according to the brochure it includes a alignment something. No clue about that..lol

Damon brand lines now makes-up a big part of Thor Motor Coach.
http://ir.thorindustries.com/investo...e/default.aspx
The Intruder was a mid-grade gas RV:
2000 Damon Corporation Price, 2000 Damon Corporation Values & 2000 Damon Corporation Specs | NADAguides
These all came with the Ford chassis and there are really no chronic issues.
Living Full-Time is very easy in a Class A with a slide...usually in the salon. But every individual has different priorities, like a gas chassis is more basic for the driving experience. So, if someone plans to move around a lot, a Diesel Pusher chassis might be more important.
The owner provided TLC over the years will make or break the unit you are looking at...drive-line fluids should have been changed, tires would need to have been replaced and other normal wear and tear items needed attention.
Best luck

If maintenance records are not available, i wont buy. I plan on putting new tires all the way around, and changing all fluids. It just needs to get me home after the sale! We are planning on boondocking alot and after we get west of the Rockies we will only be moving less than 5 times a month.
The big tanks are a plus for the rig.

Battery location need not be an issue if you change
to AGM type batteries that are zero maintenance and do
not out gas toxic corrosive fumes in the compartment.

Best luck.
If it happens, hope you visit the Newmar Owner's Forum here at iRV2:

It is right-up there as maybe the most loyal owner's group here.
Safe travels
