I'm not sure....
but suddenly my 2007 Astoria's LR slide is jerky the last 6 inches of opening...so was thinking of lubricating it.
Maybe I will call Damon to inquire.
Will let you know if I do.

When I bought my MH new, they told us that we needed to lube the slide gears and spray conditioners on the gasket for the slide. Then handed us a can of spray conditioners and slide lube.

Oh boy...we were never told that, nor given any spray.
Will find our next week, as we have an appt. at the factory.
Thanks,

It is best to use silicone spray on the slide rails and gear track. Use compressed air or wipe it good first. Any type of grease will attract dirt and do more harm than good.

Sam's right. (Hi Sam!) They make a dry lube just for slide gears. The rails themselves ride on sealed bearing that need no lubrication. The gears are another story. I use Protect All on the rubber gaskets to keep them pliable. I also keep the sides of the slides waxed so they don't "pull" the rubber as they slide in and out.

I do as Sam has outlined once a year.

Going on year 4 with no issues...

Any time things move over each other lubrication is going to be needed sooner or later.. Some devices have sealed bearings but slides don't.

Now, When last I lubed mine I had one of the gears dripping lubricant (Slick 50 super lube) and the dang thing still shears pins so fast I carry spares Major pain in the anatomy, I need to pick up more spares ... Tomorrow

The main slide on my rig started shering bolts faster than I could replace them (I am not kidding the last one I did not even have the nut on yet when wife tapped the button and snapped it)

After a long chat with someone who knew what he was doing I tried a softer bolt.. So far. So good (Grade 5, I had been using 8's)

I also lubed the blazed out if it with Slide-out lub spray.

last 3 or 4 cycles... NO SNAPPING SOUNDS
