Three weeks prior to heading to N. Ft. Myers, FL we (I) deceided a bigger rig was needed for a 6 month stay. We had a 2006 25ft Class C barely a year old. Our local dealer where we purchased the C had a new 2006 355 Challenger. Late 07 buying a new 2006 we got a great deal. We had some reservations as to why the unit hadn't sold ect. Well in So. Dak. not as many units sold as say in FL. I just want to tell anyone thinking of buying a Damon Motor Home that pound for pound it is one of the best units on the market. It is everything we hoped for and more. No issues we haven't been able to take care of ourselves. Only negative to date is the awning. It goes out over the slide out and rests on it when angled. Pushing it up in a couple of spots making rain run off bad. Also when the awning is down you have to bungee the door open as it has no where to hook as the awning arm gets in the way. Very minor in the whole sceme of the unit. So if your looking take the leap.....Merry Christmas from a couple of South Dakota snow birds enjoying a snow free winter here in FL.

Ken and Toni,

Congrats! We too bought a 2006 Damon (Daybreak) about a month ago and heartily concur. Much bang for the buck, and the dealer was motivated to move the '06 "orphan" off the lot. No problems, so far, but are still glad to have been able to purchase locally. This is our first RV, so maybe we're just blissfully ignorant, but nevertheless we're very satisfied.

Thanks all for the good wishes. We are enjoying our snow free winter. We made the leap to spend 6 months in the motor home and now plan on selling everything in the spring and doing it full time. Things are things and stuff is stuff and we all have to much of it and don't need it. Here's hoping you all will be able to follow your dreams.

Just jumping in to say "hi." We, too, have a new Damon, a 2008 Challenger 377. I haven't figured out how to post pics to the picture albums, but I'm still new to "forums" and am learning a lot just lurking.

I also have a 355 and really enjoy it. We have had a few problems but nothing that wasn't taken care of. I do have a question for you though. Is your range hood vented outside? ours is not and we have had some problems with fan motor. It was repaired worked two days and quit again. We have seen other models and they have one but have not seen another 355 model

You got me to looking. Nope no vent for the hood. Don't know if this was a mistake or not. My wife doesn't use the hood fan as it blows the flame when she is cooking. Now we know why. This sounds like it may not be a good thing. I have developed a water leak when it rains so the hood issue is minor compared. We are in FL until April 15th then will be taking unit to dealer to fix all the minor and major warranty problems.

Where is your leak? We had to have new windsheilds twice and it leaked second time when rain was blowing fixed now no problems.
Do you think thats why we have the magic fan?

Don't be afraid to get up on roof and check calking as unit is two years old now even though it is new unit. We have already had to do calking on ours. Be sure and read book as requires special stuff
