Mystery electrical problem

I have a 2009 Damon Astoria 3667. My wife opened some menthol rub and our Carbon monoxide alarm went off. I pulled the alarm, and disconnected it. As soon as I disconnected it the 2 wires contacted each other and sparked. Since then the CO detector and my tank/water level lights haven't worked. I tried replacing the CO detector today and still nothing. My fuse bank warning lights aren't lit and my circuit breakers have all reset. Any ideas?

Are the Carbon Monoxide Alarm, CO Detector and Tank/Water Level Lights all 12v?

Maybe you've already thought of these, but, just some observations:
- I don't see the CM Alarm, CO Detector and T/W Level Lights identified on any of the marked fuse locations.
- Also see that Fuse Panel Cover shows only 12 fuse locations marked, but, there's 18 fuses installed. Are the unmarked 6 fuses energized?
- Have you checked continuity on all 18 fuses to see if they're still good?

You most likely blew a fuse.. Since the wires sparked, once, connect them together temporarily Or hook a light bulb across them..l you should see one of the LED lights on the fuse panel light. Pull the indicated fuse then SEPARATE the wires and tape them off or cover with wire nuts till you put the sensor back on.

By the way, There is nothing wrong with the sensor save for the fact you disconnected it, Though we call it a "propane" detector. it is in fact an EXPLOSIVE GAS detector and will alarm on many explosive gasses.

on my tuscany the co2 and smoke detectors are not listed in the 12v panel
the co2 alarm has its own fuse about 6" in the wall behind the unit. (this is for the one under the fridge)
gently pull the wires a bit and see if it appears.

provided you did put a voltmeter on the two wires to ensure the lack of volts.
hope it helps

The blown fuses do not always light up, based on my
experience. You will need to pull them and look to
see if they thermal link is melted.

I did the same thing in my Daybreak. The fuse that is blown is under the hood on the right side. There is a set of about 6 fuses there. Mine has a plastic cap over them. It a 15 amp fuse if I remember correctly. I called Thor and they directed me to the location.

I just checked my notes and the fuse is located in the " battery control center" on the right side under the hood. It was a 5 amp fuse not a 15 amp. Hope this helps.

Pacman22 you are the winner! I thought there was no way a 5amp fuse could run everything that went out. Sure enough it was a 5amp fuse. Thank you for your suggestion and experience!

That is what we are here for... To help. Glad you found the culprit. I was also surprised that the fuse was not in the coach fuse panel. The folks at Thor knew exactly the problem and directed me all the way through.
