Mystery Switch

2001 Damon Intruder 369 ....

In the bathroom beside the Ground Break 110V outlet is a 110V switch in a standard wall plate with a red neon indicator light below.

My original thought was this was used to control the water pump but this doesn't seem the case. When I energize the switch while on battery I get nothing but with the generator running the light glows but the weird thing is I can hear the generator loading up periodically. (Every few seconds)

Does anyone have any idea what this switch controls?

Thanks in advance ... the level of knowledge on these forums is amazing!

It is the switch for the tank heater. You would turn it on to keep your gray & black tanks from freezing.
You can see the heating pads on the tanks if you look at them from your wet bay.

solved

Thanks folks .... Diva, I don't think it is for tank heaters.

I feel kinda stupid right now as I've owned a number of RV's in my life and a switch as I described always powered the electric element in the water heater. When I first examined the water heater I found no wiring or any other indication on the parts description tag that indicated it was a gas/electric heater.

But I just went bank out to look for something else and decided to give the heater another look. I found a small, almost unreadable, tag that stated the unit has an electric element mounted on the rear of the heater.

Mystery solved.!!!

If it is a 120 volt switch then it is either the water heater or added tank heaters (or wet bay heater) designed to keep things from freezing. Only possible choices.

I have a 2001 Intruder 350. That switch controls the hot water heater while on generator or shore power. It is not any kind of grey/black tank heater.

My unit also has another switch on the control panel outside the bathroom. The outside switch activates the hot water tank on propane.
