Just wanted to chime in and say hello. We are picking up our new 2008 Damon Daybreak on 2/1/08 and our first trip will be to FL next month. We are a motocross family and use our RV every weekend, well, providing the MX kid is in one piece! This is our 3rd RV, but our first new one, or even relatively new one! Thanks for this great forum, I've been reading alot of posts, though, I know I won't get through them all!

Congrats on your Daybreak! We bought a "new" '06 last Nov. and have used it a few times and love it. We got the 3270, just the 2 of us. Did you get the bunk model?
I think the Daybreak is a lot of coach for the buck.

We didn't get the bunk model, being as the kid who rides is 18 and the youngest of 3, not getting the bunks could work to our advantage! Just a few more years, and they'll all be gone!
We're really excited to pick it up tomorrow. It's got a lot of things we don't know about, like slide outs and jack levelers...all kinds of stuff I'm sure, but being as were "seasoned", I think we'll do okay.
We head for FL on the 15th, so it'll be a good maiden voyage.

Welcome jcarilyn, Enjoy your Daybreak. We're also a MX family, well not near as much MX as before but still some. My son is 20 now and between work, college, GF and other interests we don't spend every weekend at the track. Planning a trip to Moab in Feb.
Is your Daybreak on a Ford or Workhorse?

Max, it's a Ford. My hubby is really happy about that, he's a Ford guy you see! It just adds to our Ford Coral...I have a mustang, and my husband and son have Ford Pickups. When my son's friends come over, it looks like it could be a Ford commercial, as they have Fords too!

Just and update. We noticed on our trip to FL that when you put the slide out, it was leaving a black mark from the gasket. The dealer advised putting some lubricant on it, which we did. It didn't stop the problem. My husband is at the dealership with the coach today and guess what? The slide was installed incorrectly, it's installed 1/2 inch too far forward. It will take about 10 days for the parts to come in and then a few days at the dealer for repair. This doesn't sound good to me....I see $$$$$$ signs!

Ugh!
Hmm, Where was it leaving a black mark at? on the outside? I'm too late for warranty on mine but since day one my forward side gasket, is supposed to stay straight and against the slide but instead wants to fold in and out with the slide. A minor inconvenience but it's probably not adjusted perfectly.
What parts do they need for yours if it's just a half inch out of adjustment? Or is that just a ay for them to buy time ?

Congrats on your new Damon. We too have the DayBreak and all the kids are grown. The extra room works well with our grandchildren.
