After months of searching i finally laid my hands on a nice watts unit, full flow and "love that chicken at popeyes"
anywho, after three days of piece parts and back and forth to lowes ,
i think i may start making kits, up so folks can get one without all odd attention you get at lowes going back and forth from three rows of plumbing parts to get what you need

i ran a test all week at 70psi on the rv and had zero leakages and great shower flow, then when i installed the regulator i dropped it to 58psi and still have superb shower pressure and flow and also enough pressure to shut off the r/o unit when its full, instead of the drip drip drip

i put this thing together to allow easy winterizing (draining) and quick connects at the supply side,
the panbel that has the winterizing nonsense on it also removes to allow me access to the gray tank flusher i installed earlier.

I also always put my regulator on before the hose to keep excess pressure out of the hose as well.
It wouldn't be good to have a hose burst and spray the side of your Rig with hard water all night.
The calcium would be bad enough but the rust stain is even harder to remove.

powerboatr, I just built 1 myself. Very similar to yours except I built mine to go on the water connectoin at the campground faucet to keep pressure off the hose. I was tired of low flow from the mickey mouse ones you get at camping world. Have not tried it yet but leaving tomorrow AM for a trip so will see soon.
I will only say it was not cheap to build.

I did the same thing and forgot it at a campground. I have a friend that has been putting his on the camper side and has never had a problem. My replacement is going inside the water compartment.

Darrell, My regulator was set for 40 to 50# from the factory. I letf there as I understand that is the pressure recommended for most MH plumbing.

I had thought about connecting it at the campground hose bib to protect the water hose, however, I spent to much time and $$ to have it decide to stay behind or decide to walk off. the water hose is cheap compared to the regulator.
after our pooper scooper walked off i don't put anything past anybody.
last summer we were at a campground and went to the store, when we came back one of the HOSTS were at my rv, and wanted to know why i had HIS fresh water hose???? He said mine was to new like the one he was missing? ( mine was over 5 years old) Lets just say he is no longer a host.

here at home we routinley have 75-80 psi on supply stanchion and so far haven't burst a hose, i have swelled a few that looked like a cartoon tire .

i have a way to build potable water certified supply hoses that are burst proofed to 200 psi or higher if you desire at affordable prices this may be a future addition.

a note about what an rv system should hold pressure wise.....thats anybodies guess. this rig is built using manufactured hose ends, cept one and so far they haven't dripped at higher pressure. my only water leak to date was from a line that was LOOSE from delivery. IMO the water systems should without question be safe to at least 75 psi.
I think we as rvers have been sold a bill of goods with those scares of YOU must use a reducer and special toilet paper as a means to support a not needed aftermarket supply. just my .02

Been putting my big watts on the hose bib for years and no problems with it growing legs and have not left it behind.

All you need is a 3/4 inch Watts regulator with IPT inlet and outlet and a pair of Garden Hose adapters, One male and one female, to 3/4 inch IPT No need for a kit, all brass so you don't even need teflon tape

And I have seen kits, already made, at SELECTED camping world stores (The kit, in fact the watts regulator, is not a standard item at CW's. but selected stores do have 'em)

I used to put mine on at the city water connection as well but I have been places where the water pressure was 100 pounds plus. I have seen the problems that causes.

I used to use the unadjustable type of regulators for years, but they kept giving me flow problems after the first year. Switched to a Watts adjustable regulator and everything has been fine since. I have lost the unadjustable ones by setting them temporarly on the picnic table. Now when I take it off the bib I put it directly in the compartment.

AMEN
kit or no kit, easy or hard. regulators designed for a house with full flow is light years better than the junk pushed on us

i absolutely enjoy having real water flow and pressure in the shower
