I see the new Daybreaks have a one piece windshield. Sounds nice but would be costly to replace. And it seems like it would be easier to pop out. Any one have one?

Our Tuscany has one as well. The dealer told us they had to replace one and it was about $3500 for the glass, not counting any labor to install it.

As for the difference, we have had no issues at all with stones or problems with noise.

It seems that all of the coaches are going to move to a one piece windshield. The view is much better and it seems most people are now asking for them.

That cost is about right... had the one replaced in ours already due to jacks not working properly and twisting the coach... Caused the windshield to shatter...Damon customer service was quick to make it right at no cost to us while we on the road...

The difference in the view with a one piece is quite noticeable. We really enjoy it.

Well, this is a two part answer

First: From what I understand of engineering (Which I once studied back when Dinosaurs still walked the land.. Ok, perhaps a bit more recently) Your statment "Easier to pop out" is 100% accurate

From what I know of the price of things, glass prices follow the SQUARE law. that is to say double the size, quadruple the price (2^2=4)

Part 2:

My brother is a professional OTR semi driver, Semi's and the cockpit of a motor home have a lot in common, including windshields, both come in one or two piece. He mentioned several drivers he knows who got one-piece tinking (improperly) that they would improve their field of vision (They do not) and found our your fears are 100% accurate.

Re: the vision comment. The center piece on my 2-piece is between 1/2 and 3/4 as wide as the spacing of my eyes. Thus though I am always aware of it's there, it is not possible for anything to hide behind it, it in no way affects my field of vision, one eye or the other can always see past it To hide behind it you would have to be not much bigger around than a pencil and very, very very close to the windshield
