I've just purchased an awesome 07 Outlaw 3611 and wonder if there are any members who are close to the Nashville / Knoxville area and willing to show me how to operate it. The original owner passed away, so we don't have anyone who can school us and this is our first RV.

We live in Dallas and plan to ride our Harley's out to Tenn Friday morning and should be able to pick the RV up on Sunday. Once we pick it up, we'd like to head south to the Smokey Mnts for few days.

Any advice you all can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to iRV2... Maybe you can find a local RV Tech, pay him a few bucks and have him work through the systems with you...

Not knowing if this is your first Class A or not all I can say is to be very aware of the height. Mine measures 12' 9". You won't have an issue on the highway as they warn you in advance of any height under 14' 6" but on the secondary roads you want to be sure what they post as the height.
If it's been sitting, be sure to check the tire pressure for at least 90 PSI but the actual pressure is posted on the wall to the left of the drivers seat.
I have a 2008 so you can post here if you have any questions about any of the specific operations when you pick it up. I'll actually be in Pigeon Forge this weekend but I'll be pretty busy and leaving on Monday.

Good luck with it and enjoy the Smokey's!

Thinking about this further on my way to work this morning, I thought about you loading your bikes into it for the first time.

With any luck, you'll find the manuals are still located above the cab in the overhead compartments. The briefcase should contain information on all the components in the RV as well as the owners manual and chassis manual.

Do you know if the Outlaw is equipped with tie down straps or Chocks? Is it prepped for carrying two bikes? Three E-Tracks or just two?

Do you have any experience using a trailer and strapping down your bike (it's a Harley so I'll assume that's a yes ) kidding!

If you're not sure about these things then you'll definitely want to find this out and be prepared when you arrive.

Thanks everyone!

The Outlaw does have 3 E-Strips installed, however, we'd like to move one closer to the right side. We thought we were all set to have a dealership in Crossville who was going to install 2 wheel chocks, chain the oil and do an overall inspection. The Outlaw has been in a garage and only used a couple times over the last few years..
The dealership in Crossville just informed us that they didn't realize we were requesting the work to be done this week (HUH!! We've talked to them no less than 5 times over the last week).

So now we are on the hunt for someone who can install the wheel chocks, lube the unit and give her a once over. We are trying to everything done prior to our arrival.

That looks like it was setup for dirt bikes. You'll need to center the middle one and move the right one over to about the same distance from the wall as the one on the left in order to fit those touring bikes in there. Even with that the strap angle on the wall side is pretty steep.

The chocks that have the flip up rear devise that locks in the wheel when you ride up into it work great in that it turns the job into a one man operation since you don't even have to put the kickstand down once you ride into it. Getting it out takes practice but that's also something you can do on your own.

Any truck or RV center should be able to do this for you including changing the oil. Another option is a truck tire center as they also do work like this on occasion. The issue is the short notice. Call around and I'm sure you'll find someone that can help you.

These are the chocks I installed less the mounting plate, for $40 each they're a cost effective alternative to the Condor chocks. I screwed them right to the floor using these Part Number: 90192A132 so I can remove them in a hurry without having a nut and washer under the floor. The inserts accept a 3/8-16 bolt and work perfect. The chocks can be removed in minutes. Put a 3/8-16 set screw in the hole and you have a seal to the outside.

Hi Don,

Mike here, hope you are well! I'm surprised you are using any wheel chocks in this photo?

Only pic I could find of our set up ( I copied Don's instructions and it's worked out well to date ). Often travel with 2-4 dirt bikes and a ton of gear.

Mike
