On my Outlaw 3611 I have two lights outside, I'll call them patio lights. This is on the entry side. My question concerns the addition light that is on the other side of the coach. It's towards the back, roughly above the rear axle. When I put my patio lights on the other light also goes on. At a campsite that can be extremely annoying to the people on that side of my coach. I know it would bother me. Because of that I tend not to use the lights even though I would like too. There doesn't seem to be a seperate switch for this other light. I have a couple of ideas but I figured I would reach out to you guys to see if you have the same problem and if you have done anything to retify it. As always I would appreciate any help that I get. Thanks!!

Usually the switch that controls the patio lights is a 3-position switch
On mine UP is Patio, Center is OFF and down is Both patio and "Work" light (The light on the back of the coach)
Yours could be mounted the other way up.
If that does not work you might try a "Bulb-etcemy" (remove the bulb, or replace it with a BOB (Burned out bulb)

My coach also has the same lights and like John-D said the switch is a 3 way, Off, one light (patio side), or both. Check to see if your switch is a 3 way, if so problem solved! If your switch is not a 3 way, but I bet it is, the BOB is the easy fix. Happy RVing!

Well, I don't have a three way switch for the outside lights. This now makes me wonder should I have one. Any other Outlaw owners out there? Do you have a three way switch for you outside lights?
I don't really want go the BOB route. I like the light for working at night. Does anyone have any other ideas? I looked to see if I could isolate the wire to the light and maybe put an in-line switch on it. But I was unable to find it. I guess it's buried in the wall. Would really like to solve this one.

Did you pull the switch off the wall and see if the other wire is just hanging loose in the wall? Could be it was wired for a 3 way and the guy installing the switch only had a 2 way and put it in to keep the line moving. If the wire is there you just need to get the switch.

Took the switches off the wall today. There are no extra wires to put to a three way switch. Tried to figure out how to get to the light from the inside of the coach but the light is right where the shower surround is. Going to have to keep thinking on this one.

You could add a switch in the rear fixture itself, drill the lens for a small weatherproof toggle and tap it into the wires right at the fixture. Might make turning it on/off a pain but it would give you a slight advantage over a BOB. Or get real fancy and install a small IR controller in the fixture operated by a remote control. I think the old Clapper light control (did I date myself?) would be too big and require 120v - bet that would a real conversation starter!

Tone down the brightness by replacing the clear bulb with an amber one. As a bonus, it will attract less flying insects.
You could also replace it with one that has a motion sensor in it for activation. That light has only one bulb in it. Then it will act as a security light and only go on if the neighbors get too close to it.

An amber lens with the existing bulb will likely minimize the annoyance factor. It worked for me since neighbors stopped complaining.
