Here's something someone may be able to clue me in on.

I had a van RV where I changed-out a defective Magnetek32 for a WFCO45. Excellent results as the unit sat on house and chassis batteries at 13.2vdc float and the power supply was cool to the touch.

I now have a Damon DayBreak 3270 which had the OEM Magnatek converter constantly at 13.6vdc which is spec, was always warm and I wanted to improve on that.

So I changed the Magnetek for a WFCO55.

No matter what I try I cannot get the voltage in the system to 13.2vdc float. It's always at 13.6 and the WFCO case is warm.

House batteries are disconnected. The engine battery is disconnected. All 12volt fuses in the dist panel are removed. There is nothing I can locate that is active other than the propane gas detector yet the WFCO still sits at 13.6 and the case is slightly warm after two days. I do not own an ammeter.

Any SHERLOCK out there had a similar problem and knows what is drawing power?

It's going to stay at 13.6, that's normal. WFCO sucks anway.
But without an ampmeter, you won't know if there's a load or not.

I'm very happy with the two WFCO's...

I found a FLUKE meter and read 87ma out of the converter w/o batts connected, and 950ma with them connected after 30 mins...I no longer think I have a load issue. I'm thinking the WFCO55 jus' has more internal circuitry than the 45 did. Possibly the 950ma load is enough to keep it in absorbtion mode.
