If it's a full power seat and the rest of the functions are working, I doubt that it would have 2 power sources. So any problems would be at the seat , switch, connections , motor or a bound up mechanism.
Brand name on the seat ?
My Flexsteel seats have a self re-setting 30 amp 12v . circuit breaker. Controls all seat functions.

Ours did the same thing, i changed switches, chased wires, etc
if you bounced around it would operate every now and again
last trip i had had enough
so i unbolted the seat from the pedestal and flipped her over.
took a few minutes but i manged to remove the motor that drives the leg rest
what i found in the garage with 12v power and a test lead. was that the motor would work. I was puzzled
so i decided to let it run while i wiggled it and shook it
BAM it stopped
so i removed the long housing screws and gently removed the back cover where the wires and brushes are.
what i found was the yellow wire had been crimped through the insulation by the improper alignment of the main housing and the end cap. there was a notch for the wires to reside, but it was turned about 5 points off so the edge crimped the wire
and broke most of the strands, so after time the current load simply overloaded the remaining strands, burned and failed
so i replaced the wire with a new one and opened up the notch on the rear cover
it surprised me
my moms was having the same issue and guess what i found over there? the same mismatched housing to rear cover plate
hers is a 2004 bounder
so I am thinking flexsteel screwed up a few batches

My previous coach had a foot rest that was operated by a screw rod and connected to the motor. The wire to the motor could be disconnected for service replacement on the motor and it would come disconnected when ever the seat was turned towards the living area.
OK, I finally made it home, and have taken the seat out to have it recovered. I found the problem of not working to be the wire plug had come disconnected inside the wire cover thingy. dah. Also when I removed the seat this came out and I don't know where it goes on the seat mechanism. Can anyone tell me where it belongs?
Thx,
Ron

i think its a shipping lock of sorts.
when i removed my seat this November to bring in the new fridge...it fell out when i inverted the chair. I have no idea where it would go normally other than to hold the foot rest in while shipping or removing the seat
