Hi all. I just bought a used 2005 Daybreak and I've noticed that the 2 rear levelers hang pretty low to the ground when retracted. Can anyone that has owned, or currently owns, the same RV that this is normal?

Thanks Ridgmar. It's going to make me think twice about speed bumps and dips

If they don't retract all the way up, grease them with the proper product, check with your RV store.

When parked I back my 3135 daybreak up on to railroad ties and the jacks just clear so an obstacle would have to be 9" tall in a very short distance to be an issue. The proximity of the jacks to the rear wheels protects them.

I finally got out and measured while they were retracted, the rear levelers are 3.5 inches off of the ground! As near as I can tell they're retracting all the way up.

I'll go back to my original question, is this normal for this model?

I have a 2008 damon challenger. Although I have never measured them, they do hang low in the retracted position. I have also questioned this and I was told this was normal.

Ok you made me get off the sofa and go measure! Yours ARE low! Mine measure 8 in. off the ground. Hope this helps.

I'll have to add this to my list of problems to have a Workhorse mechanic check out.

Thank you.

It's normal for an '05 Daybreak on a Workhorse chassis, just another engineering marvel that they just said, "o well". If you look you'll see why they are so low, even tho they are adjustable, the gas filler tube is in the way.
I drag on mine all the time but haven't needed to be towed off yet.

Thanks Max. I almost got hung up coming out of a parking lot this past weekend. I was able to goose it and get through it. I can't imagine that all that abuse is good for where it mounts to the chasis.

Davedoc, since we must have the same chassis/ MH, if either of us figure a way to raise them higher, let's share .

Had a Chev front. This one -as mentioned earlier- is an 06 and is a Ford. I don't know what chassis are that you all are Discussing but both had levelers Ar
at same level as I remember. I have had problems with both sets- one time the older one locked up and we couldn't get the. To retract. Not fun as tornado came in nearby as I remember.
A couple of PTs. - you don't lube them as someone mentioned and I would contact Damon- now Thor. They were EXTREMELY helpful and they took great care of mine.
I am on another Rv site and over and over read that Thor is top notch on solving problems. Good luck and I hope you get them fixed.
