Hi, this is our first post to this group...been looking for Damon owners for a while now.

We have a 2002 Ultrasport DP with the living room/dining room slide and a bedroom slide. The front is really a "tip-out" slide as to compared with our previous Monaco LaPalma. I want to replace the carpet in the main area...not the slide area under the sofa or where I had the dinette.(We took it out and replaced it with an island that has a breakfest bar and more storage. Because of the way the slide rises and then slides out/slides back in, I am afraid that if we put in hardwood (no laminate, have had my problems in the sticks/bricks with that stuff...)it will be gouged by the rollers. Have any of you guys with this type of slide/tip out replaced flooring? There is ceramic in the kitchen which I think would be ok to transition to wood...I would even consider laminate/vinyl as I hate the carpet.

Paul, what have you done with removing/replacing carpet? I am looking at doing similar in our Intruder 351. Bathroom has carpet - that's definitely going. I would like to remove carpet in dinette and living area and replace with laminate similar to what's in kithen area or install vinyl to interface with existing laminate. Our front slide contains kitchen area (laminate floor) and sofa (carpet). So slide rolls on both laminate and carpet. No intention to remove laminate in kithcen area. Any information on how to go about this and what is involved will be appreciated.
