I want ot install an in motion sat. dish. but i was told that it won't work because the outlaw's roof is not flat they have to wedge it in the front to get it level. has anyone done this and is the installer telling the truth.
Thanks Tony

Hey Tony!

Yes, the SAT dish will work best with an angled mount. This is because the gyro-stabilizer expects the edge of the dome to be level as it directs the motors to spin and pan the dish.

Even my Winegard crank-up has a wedge so the elevation or angle stays set as I pan to find the bird.

Now about the installer saying it won't work...that's bunk...have them order the right mount. For a dome, it is brackets of different lengths...not a wedge. The wedge is only for a dish that has mechanical linkages that go through the roof.

Best luck
P.s. you can do it yourself...it is not rocket science.

This is me throwing my 2 cents worth in also (Steve is right) and throwing the BS Flag (:face palm at whoever told you that. I've been around two different Outlaws that have the in-motion system. The entire roof is not angled and mounting the in-motion is no more difficult than mounting any other dish.

Good luck and share the process when you're done!
