Does any one have the instructions for retracting the sides on a 2002 Damon Intruder? Need the emergency procedure just in case?

I guess there is no emergency instructions for putting in the sides on my Intruder that any one knows of. moderator please remove, I guess if it ever happens i, will just drive it home with the slide out. Thought with all this information some one would know!!!!!!!!!

Mr C, dont give up on this forumn, its loaded with helpful folks, BUT, some info about your system would help.. Manuf-type model etc.. Give it a try, leveling systems aren't exclusive to one coach manuf...rgr...

Some may chime in later if they come across your request. Check for other forums/sources and at a dealer. Agree w/you that having the knowledge ahead of time can prove to be very valueable either for yourself or others. Sorry can't help as have a newmar with rack/pinion system

Do you know who the manufacturer of the slides are? My LR is made by LCI and the BR is BAL.

Don't know if this will help on your model but I have a Damon Tuscany 4074 with 4 slides. The back slides retract by cable which are driven by a motor on the top inside of the slide. Just remove the trim board on the top inside of the slide and you can use a power drill to turn the shaft to retract.
On the front slides (which are gear driven) there is an access hole at the top of the storage compartment, directly under the center of the slide. The access is a round plastic plate that screws into place. Remove the round access plate and reach up with a crescent wrench and turn the shaft (which is square) about 1/4 to 1/3 turn per pull. You can probably reach into the space between the bottom of the slide and the wall of the MH to access the shaft until the slide is in about 16" or until you can no longer comfortably turn the wrench, then finish the procedure through the access hole in the storage compartment. I have never had to use either method, but this is the procedure that was describe to me by a sales rep. at the Damon factory.

Of course if you have a emergency towing, etc. plan you could call and let them have the fun.

Thanks for the info, these are exactly what I have but 2 slides. I know about both as you described. For the BAL slide with the cables I saw the motor assembly and have the flexiable shaft. On the Lipert LCI slide I know where the hatch is but reading the manual it says to charge the motor with 12v to remove the brake, then crank it in with a wrench. Like you said worst case I will have to call in to Good Sams.

I really appreciate your feedback!

It would be nice to know where the fuses or C/B's are for these slides. Oh well I'll just hope the keep on working.

I have a 2005 intruder, I have two different types of slides

The bedroom and wardrobe slides were made by AccuSlide and are "Cable Cars" (When extended you will see 4 cables, two in front (top and bottom) and two in back)

To bring them in manually your remove the top board over the bed or wardrobe, Take a common battery operated screw driver or drill with a 1/4 inch HEX drive (Screwdriver extension) Flex extension.. Fit the extension in the power unit (Screwdriver or drill) and fit the socket end to the motor shaft.

The main slide is a power gear "Rack and Pinion" type.. With the slide extended you can see the motor if you look under the slide and over the storage compartment

There is a lever, under the rubber boot, that releases the brake.. Per the instructions you then put a 3/4 inch wrench on the nut that will be on one end of the shaft (Actual it's on one of the gear shafts) only problem.. Damon never put that nut on mine nor did they give me a way to access it.

When the shear bolts bust on my rig I have pushed it in the old fashion way (Put hands on it and push) that worked.. but I'm over six feet and over 300 pounds.

I think I found the 30 Amp C/B that feeds the slides. It is mounted on the plywood that the BCC is mounted. I'll try to put an induction amp meter on the wires and move the slides to confirm this is the C/B for the slides. Here is a picture, the left C/B is the one I believe for the slides and the right for the converter.

all six of our slides are the "cable car" type from bal

the read bed slide you need arms about 4 feet long to run the room in completely.

I put an induction amp meter on the wires for the 30 amp breaker while DW rand the slides, and that is it. That 30 amp feeds both slides. The other breaker is a 50 amp for the inverter. At least now I know.
