We haven't even taken the beast out of the drive way yet and we're running into all sorts of problems.

The steps have come in and out without any problems. But today they are stuck half way and when closing the door you can hear the motor running for it but nothing is happening.

Any suggestions?

Sounds to me that the gear box is broken. Does the motor continue to run and not stop? If it stops then the linkage is disconnected from the step and it's a small problem. Sorry you're having problems...

The motor does stop. It runs as if it's bringing the steps in but isn't. Good to know it may be a small problem.

We had a problem with ours also. (2007Astoria)
We had it 6 months with no problems, then when we were leaving Disney World in Florida for a 1000+ miles home trip the steps decide to get stuck in! Guess it was better than getting stuck out!

Anyway whole way home I looked real graceful getting in and out.No step ladder or portable step with us, too "newbie" to think of it.

Got it fixed after we got home. Needed a "new Brain" (electronic relay).
Long story short.
Sue

Lesson learned...get a portable step to take with you.

Good idea. We'll get soem portable steps (leaving on Friday)

They did say it was the motor but now I'm not sure what they were saying is wrong with the motor. We're crossing our fingers they can get the part here and fixed by Friday!
