Of course had friends over tonight who had not seen our RV before. When my husband goes to put out the bedroom slide it doesn't move.
Not even a click like it was trying to move.
Since this only happened a few hours ago and our company just left we have not had a chance to investigate.
Will check it out tomorrow. Do you think it could be a fuse?
The other 2 slides opened without a problem.
Thanks for any input.

Sue,
Was the engine running? mine won't allow the side to operate with the motor running. The only thing I could think of other than that is a low battery. By that I mean thast the battery was fine for lights but not for a higher draw thing like putting out the slide. Other than how about slide lock bars?
How do I know these you may ask?? I have been through them at one time or another.

Thanks KC1Bud for the reply.
We have 3 slides, 2 went out without a problem.
Engine not running.
No lock bars in place.
We live in NE and have some snow recently, do you think maybe ice could have gotten wedged in place?
Think we'll try it again today after things melt a bit more.
Thanks for helping me trouble shoot.
Sue

Sue, It seems to me that if it were froze, you still would have heard some noise. If it were silent then I would think that it wasn't getting power. Also if it were frozen, then I think that would be reason enough to blow a fuse, but still should have heard something. Let us know what you find. John H....

We tried it again this am. After a few tries it went out. Then came back in for us. But then when we tried again, it wouldn't move or make any noise.
So my brother who is an engineer and knows a bit of electrical stuff came over to investigate. He thinks it might be a "thermal overload".
So advises that we call Damon tomorrow and speak with someone there before trying to take apart motor for that slide.
We are taking a trip in 10 days to Myrtle Beach..hope to have it fixed before then otherwise slide will remain in and I will climb over bed.
Thanks John H for your input . will let you and
KC1BUD any updates.

Forgot to mention that the fuse wasn't blown, and when we try and extend the slide there is clicking in the motor, just no other power.

I had to replace a switch on my rig. 2 slides worked well, one did not, turned out to be the stupid switch... They put in a new one, I put in a spare one adn when it don't work.. I transfer the leads to the spare.

I suppose the thermal breaker could be tripping if it is frozen to the side of the rig. Because it would require more torque to overcome the freezing. As things get colder, tolerances get tighter and it requires more torque as well. Remember in Alaska during WW2 they had to run the engines 24 hours a day, or build open fires under the engines of the aircraft to keep them from actually freezing.
I live in Michigan, mine has been stored indoors since early November.
It may just work fine when you go on your trip

Sue,
I have the same problem with my 2009 Challenger 376. The front slide will work just fine but the bedroom slide will not. The only time I have had the problem is when the unit is plugged to shore power and the battery disconnect switch is in the disconnect position. If I put the batteries back in the loop it works fine. My rear slide is the only cable slide I have so the only thing I can think of is the converter along does not have enough amps to get the motor past the start-up load.
Not sure if you had the batteries disconnected but if you did that might be something to try.

Thanks Greg for the response. Took it to be looked at today and they think the relay board (circuit board) that is next to that slides motor has shorted out. Not sure why, so they were contacting the Lippert co. today to speak with them.

Suggestion for the next time this happens
Every slide out made has a manual override method. Now just what it is for your slide I don't know.. But I do know where to find it
IN THE FINE MANUAL
If you don't have the manual go to the company web site and download it.. If you do have the manual go to the company web site and download it anyway Cause paper is harder to loose than your computer's hard drive.. Oh, and back up the hard drive too.

UPDATE:
Well, after having at the repair shop for 2 days and having them call Lippert, and Damon Factory, changing out the relay boards, and switches and still having the problem intermittently..the problem could not be found...UNTIL the service guy hooked it up to short power and noticed it worked everytime.
So KC1Bud, it seems like your battery theory is correct! It seems that the relay board controlling the motor for that particular slide out is more sensitive to the amt. of available voltage.
And GregI..ours will not work with batteries in disconnect mode.
So thats the story...if we dry camp and the slide will not come in we will put on generator and bring it in that way.
Thanks for all your input and interest.
