Thanks KC1BUD! I will contact my insurance company. I thought that it wouldn't be covered because of my deductable..Good to know! I think I have another casualty. I think my antenna amplifier is fried. Other than that everything works great. I'm happy if that's all...

Chandler,

I forgot to mention neither lightening strike was a direct hit. All it needs to do is cause a surge in the power lines, and to have caused the items to quit during the storm, or shortly after. In fact now that I remember it, the TV still functioned, but the sound was tinny, which means it fried the sound boards somehow.

How are you doing with the insurance company?

Dan

First things first...Ford uses a smaller lug nut that Workhorse. It has a washer under it. A 3/4 inch socket is all that is needed. I used my 1/2 inch drive 24 inch breaker bar and broke the nuts loose with not a lot of effort. Ford has a torque for the nuts but you can get very close with the bar.

Dan, I talked to my insurance company before we left but I haven't heard from them yet. I will give them another call on Monday. Thanks!

Chandler

What a summer Chandler - sounds like Murphy's law was riding with you also. You are right about the loud bang inside the coach - it is definitely a attention getter. At least I only had one blowout and not on steer axle. Sure glad all worked out safe for you guys. My date codes are all late 04 which down here means that "newer ain't always better". Taking ours in on the 16th for AC repair or replacement and the wonderful Dometic fridge recall fix. Goodyear probably will not give you any help but you won't know unless you try. Hopefully your insurance co will help also. Good luck and may all of our bad luck is behind us. Everyone travel safe and enjoy the lifestyle that we enjoy so much.............Jim

Thanks Jim! I called the insurance company and they do not cover tire failures, just damage casued by it. They will check into the damage to my wheel liner...as well as the TV.

I now consider myself an expert on handling a motorhome during a blowout.

I can now relax for at least 5 years!

Chandler
