Hi,
I've been wondering about the airbags. When one parks for a while (few months or more). Should one dump the air out of the bags?

Also, When parked without the levelers extended at home. The airbags slowly go down. the spot that I use to measure at the front is 12-1/2" and the rear is 12". In 24 hours it drops 1/2". both front and rear. another 36 hour its down to 10" and 10 1/2".

I suppose that this is related to the Coaches Air tank leaks it's air out. I wonder if they are related. Is this normal?
I have an 08 Tuscany 4076
Thanks,
Ron

I read somewheres about storage the bags should be aired up....however if your losing 1/2 in 24 hrs, you would need a compressor running all the time.
i am not sure about leakage rates but 1/2 in 24 seems a bit high

i have a service/warranty trip tomorrow i will ask around

storage w/out air is fine. Most motorhomes w/air bags use a type of bag w/a bumper on the inside-lower metal part of the bag assembly for the coach to set on (in theory its also there for bottoming out, but hopefully that doesn't happen) when you dump the air. Levelers may hike the frame up off the bumper on one or more corners, but if you have a level enough spot you can just dump air & rest on the bumpers.

the freightshaker folks mirrored these guys, the internal stops are there to support the chassis when the bags loose air, so its oky doky to let it rest on them.

I just got off the phone with Lippert. AS far as parking with the bags down he said to call Damon. But his opinion would be to park it with the levelers down and the bags dumped. (everyone has an opinion). :=)

And the I asked about it loosing air to lower the coach about 1/2" very 24 hours he said that is a freight liner problem.

So, Its back to the phone.

Ron

Then an after thought. Isn't it normal for the air to leak/drain from the air tank after setting a while? Or are they ,the air bags and the air tank, separate?
