What are the feelings here on wether to cover your MH or not. I have a new 2007 Daybreak. A good friend of mine says i really should put a cover on it to save the roof from all the sun it is getting sitting in my driveway. But from what i have read on other forums most do not like covers because they tend to do more damage then they prevent.
I live in a regulated area where i am allowed to park my MH in my drivway as long as there is room, But i am not permited to put up temp structures like tents and such. So i either have to cover it or build a Garage. Can't afford the garage so thats out.

When not in use we have kept our MH covered from the day we bought it, and out TT before that. Looks as good as the day we bought it. We say keep it covered.

What cover do you use? Do you remember where you got it?

Kevin,

I have the top of the line Adco cover, the tyvek/combo cover. I bought my coach in January, got the cover in February, put it on one time after purchase, and the next month I was able to move into a covered spot out of the elements.

I have this perfect cover sitting in my workshop in the original bag and all. My coach is 37' long and it's the "tall" version to clear roof air, etc. It fit great. I don't remember the model name, just know it was most expensive out there.

If your interested send me a PM or email.

We also cover when we sit for a long period of time. The brutal heat here in Florida will beat up the coach.

But we do not put in on if it will set for just a week or so. Too much of a hassle. We have a dreaded Home Owners Association (HOA) that won't allow us to keep it here at all. I get 48 hours to do the loading, unloading, maintenance, etc before it has to go back into the storage lot.

Also remember that you have to be pretty mobile to tote the thing up top and then get it set on correctly. And a helping hand is always nice to have...

Thanks for the input, Right now i am working on maybe being able to put it inside a vacant commercial building that a friend of mine owns. But if that doesnt work out it is sounding more and more like i need to cover.

Kevin, Having it inside a friends building would be next to keeping it in your own building if you had one. I have a space in our office building where I kept our Class C, but our A won't go in because of it's extra height. I keep it behind our house and bought a cover for it last fall for covering it during the winter. I think it is too much trouble to cover and uncover during the camping season. If you feel the need to cover and uncover and can manage it then that would be the second best choice. Can also depend on where your located and how harsh the enviroment is. If it's in intense sunshine and heat every day, I would probably build some sort of partial cover. Let us know what you decide to do. John H....
