Anyone have experience towing a trailer with a Damon Challenger 348 or similar? I live at fairly high altitude and wonder if this could reasonably tow a 8000 lb trailer.

Your hitch is only rated for 5000lbs.

The hitch could be upgraded. I wondered if the coach could handle it or if it would be gutless.

Doubt if your chassis, including brakes, could handle 8k. Ford chassis typically handles 5500 as long as the Gross Combined weight is not exceeded. If frame has been extended, like on my 2002 Challenger 335, Damon is adamant that the tow weight is 3500 in spite of having a 5k hitch (due to welds in frame). My recommendation is do not even think about 8k
