Transit Bars

I just purchased a 1999 Damon Challenger 330 with a slide.
I was going to try the slide out now that it is not covered in ice but came across a warning sticker about releasing transit bars.
What are they and how would I release them ?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. The slide out contains a couch, sink and stove if it helps.

I believe you are referring to bars that often rest on TOP of the slide when it is pulled in. These are designed to prevent the slide from moving outward when you are driving. The bars can be very simple--essentially curtain rods that extend between the wall of your RV and the ridge that surrounds the slide. Our new DP didn't come with these, but our last gas Class A did--but they weren't installed and we never used them. Lots of folks forget that they are installed and damage their rig when putting the slides out, so be sure that you remove yours if they are installed, or verify that they weren't installed in the first place.

photo of transit bar

This is a picture of our bar. We own a 1999 Daybreak so I figure the bars make look the same.

We bought the unit as a used rig and I doubt the bar has been in it's rightful travel location since it was delivered to the original owners.

BTW- Welcome to the forum -I hope you enjoy your new rig!
