tuscany over the door awning

anybody else think our manual over the door awning was a wasted effort?

Kinda, but better than nodda. Other than not lining up when closing, It kinda works.

I think the one on the slide right next to it is MORE of a waste of time. Should be mounted on the slide. Would be more effective.

Don't you think the extra $100 would be worth it for the automatic awning instead? And the main awning has given us nothing but fits (Dometic has replaced everything but the right side arm) since we owned it.

where have you been?
i agree my main awning is not put in the best spot, it should have hung off the slide, but ....whatcha going to do

The manual for the awning says you should not keep it out when it is raining, it is only a sun shade. Well it is too small to block much sun. If it is not for keeping the door a bit dry, why bother with it? I kept it out in a medium type rain once and was horrified at the effect the weight of the small amount of rain had. Consequently I have taken the handle and put it up on the top of my rails in the basement just to keep it out of the way.
