Looking for help. I'm adding in motion satellite system to my 2008 Challenger 376 and want to be able run all 3 tv's with Direct TV viewing different channels at the same time. Will I need 3receivers? Thanks for your help.

Yes, I believe that you will. That is what we were told by our installer.. We have two receivers, one in Bedroom and one in Living Room. That covers the two of us pretty well. We purchased a radio frequency remote control for when we are outside that will beam into the Living Room TV to change the outside tv channels.

You will need 3 receivers and you will all need to be watching channels that are on the same satellite.

you can get 1 dual receiver. It will be good for 2 tv's and save you space. You can install an a/b switch to control between the second and third tv so that you dont have to pay for a third receiver. The second remote on the dual receiver works from anywhere in the MH.

I believe the person who made this post is familiar with the dual tuner receivers used by Dish TV which can feed outputs to two different TVs. I don't believe this feature is available on DirecTV receivers. You can always take the output of the second receiver and feed it to the third one. You don't need an A/B switch on the output end; you can always split the output (but not the input) signal from a satellite receiver and feed it to multiple sets.

You might want to think of HD Recorder receiver, then you can record your favorite programs.

Here at the house we have no problem running 5 different sets off of 1 dish with a dual LMB. We are set up for 4 sets from Dish. the way we are able to connect the 5 set is by using both outputs from the back of the receiver. My receivers have a coax output and a the red yellow and white RCA connectors to the other set. The wife is watching either one or the other so she can use the same remote for either set.

For in-motion, 3 TV's. at once you will need
A Dome type antenna with DUAL OUTPUT (This is called a DUAL)
A switch (Digital Equipment switch)
THREE receivers
And You will *NOT* be able to get HDTV with this set up since no dome at this time can do HD.
NOTE: With that many TV's.... I'd recommend stand alone TiVo DVR's.
NOTE that you can NOT!! run a television where the driver can see it when going down the highway. Does not matter if driver is watching.. Only if he CAN see it. I have given troopers the chapter and verse (Section and sub section) of law so they could properly write the ticket back in my dispatcher days.

we have a 2009 Challenger 376. we had the directv traveler dish installed when new. i use a directv hd dvr. the hdmi cable goes directly to the tv in the LR. the svideo cable and 2 rca audio cables go to a rf modulator set for channel 3. The modulator is connected to the distribution center via coax to the satellite input. When the satellite button is pressed on the distrubution center, the tv 's on that circuit get whatever is playing on the dvr when tuned to channel 3. However, you can't watch 2 different programs on 2 different sets. You will need separate receivers for that. The traveller dish has 4 lnb,s to distrbute to up to 4 tuners. Here,s the problem with directv. To get hd, the dish must be tilted to pick up 3 satellites. That is why you cannot get hd while in motion. The 110 satellite only broadcasts digital for directv. The dish network broadcasts hd on one satellite, the 110 and lets you get hd while in motion. After all is said and done, I should have gone with dish network and utilize a vue cube that mounts on the rear ladder. This allows hd while in motion, and if you set up under heavy trees or obstructions, you can easily take it off the ladder and move just the cube into a clearing that sees the 110 satellite without moving your rig. I wish I had known this before I had the directv traveller dish installed.I ended up purchasing a vucube for those many times we are in the heavily treed state parks and can move the vuqube into a clearing without moving the rig. However I don't get hd because directv doesn't broadcast hd on the 110 sat. However digital is better than no tv.

Welcome to the forum! You're getting a lot of responses outside the bounds of your questions but I think the bottom line is yes, you'll need three receivers in order to watch three different channels at the same time. Also, as noted, you won't be able to get in motion HD for DirecTv.
Best of luck.

For DirecTV there is no Dome that will get HD, you need the Trav'ler or similar SlimLine Dish to get HD from Direct. We have the Winegard SK3005 installed on our 5er, so we're not looking for in-motion, has 4 outputs so you can drive 4 rcvrs, 2 DVRs or 1 DVR and 2 std Rcvrs or 4 std Rcvrs. Works great as long as you have a clear view of the Satellites. Love the push the button and it does everything. Dish does offer a Dome that will get HD, but I think you have to have a specific Receiver for it to work.

I ended up installing 2 standard receivers with Dvr. Seems to be working OK. I can view different channels on two of the three tv,s at the same time. Beware that Directv will not active purchased receivers if they cost less than $398 each.
