Hi Everyone
We are thinking of changing out the front tv in our 2007 Tuscany 4055
This LCD unit puts out tremendous heat when running
This picture quality is also poor

Has anyone attempted to change out this TV in a 4055
It looks like we have to dismantle the island to get this done
32" LCD's are very low in price this Xmas
Here in Ontario LG and Samsung 720p units are trading at $370-$435

We use a MotoSat Freedom dome for sat service
The 27" unit runs very cool and has a good picture
Our coach has the Zenith unit in it

We would like to put an LCD in the bedroom
Can someone with a 2009 or 2010 unit take some pictures of the mounting Damon used to accomplish this
Any advice or experience would be appreciated

Thanks for the help

we have the toshiba unit and it puts out a big heat signature as well, but the picture is great
in summer the heat plume messes witht the a/c thermostat and causes it to run longer, it also makes the heater think its warmer in teh main salon, than tit realy is and then we get a chilly
someone jsut didnt think about the a/c placement and the tv to much

i was thinking about a small electronics fan to move the heat plume
the vizio LED I watched at best buy was very nice

We just bought a Samsung LED for the home and OMG, the pic is awesome. Very lightweight and the thinnest ever. Ours is hung on the wall like a picture frame, literally..2 metal discs about 2" in diameter each are attached to the wall and a cable is attached to the TV. Just hang the cable around the discs and you are set. This is a 55" TV and I don't think it weighs more than 30lbs-35lbs. When I change mine out I will definately go LED. 50% reduction in power and heat consumption as well.

My company has been dealing with LED Technology for years in the police equipment market (ie light bars and so fourth) and it has come far enough that I have the confidence in the TV. Power consumption on police cars from the strobe tech. is over 75%. Hard to go wrong there.

Anyways, sorry for the rambling, I hope I have been of some help.

rdm1:

The TV location in your Tuscany is very similar to the location in my 2007 Challenger 377. I needed to remove the 32" TV to get access to the digital antenna input jack.

Look carefully past the top and bottom of the set, under the wooden trim frame. You should see black square head screws across the top and bottom of the TV. These screws hold the TV Mounting bracket. Get someone to help you support the TV and remove all of the screws. The TV should then be detached and tip forward out of the cabinet, as far as the cables will allow.

Transfer this bracket to the replacement TV. Just make sure the replacement is no bigger in its outside dimension so you can put the screws back in.

The Bedroom TV is probably mounted in a similar fashion.

I hope this helps, and good luck with your upgrade.

Jim

Hey powerbtr;

If you take the A/c thermostat remote and move it into the front of the coach you get away from the TV. /wait a minute the 4055 and my 4072 are different places I guess. Nevertheless go ahead and separate the remote and the TV and the whole issue goes away. Our 4072 has the TV on the mid coach wall, we put the thermostat remote up front and everything is cozy.

As for the quality of the TV picture, our Toshiba is great. I hook it up to a portable HD sat antenna, ran a HDMI cable to the set and we are in hog heaven. I wouldn't think for a second about replacing that unit.

We also have a 2007 4055. The end screws off with the six screws and you can remove the bottom and top bolts and the TV will come out on a solid metal plate. Just replace the tv (it should be a standard mount on the metal plate) and then slide it back in.

The rear TV in the bedroom is not standard. It is an actual tube TV. Take off the front wood panel with the 4 screws and you can slide out the TV. You'll have to make a mount for the new flat panel and will also have to make a new front wood panel to match up with the new TV.

We put in a good DVD upconvert player and connected it via HDMI to the Viewsonic in the front and it looks great. We've also had not issues with local HD channels as well. Our old satellite with the old picture looks grainy but all HD looks very well.

And the heat is just a by product of the technology. Maybe to new LED TV's will help but the picture is just not there yet to what my favorite plasma will do.

The temp sensor is in the ceiling unit, not the remote. The remote is just for setting the electronics in the ceiling unit.
