I let house bat go down and it was in disconnect mode. Plugged in shore power and no charge. Finally figured out that Damon disconnect relay is latching, stays where you left it with or without power. Accouding to relay mfg. specs it requires 10.6 volts to operate. So it won't allow house bat. charging until voltage high enough to allow dosconnet relay to be operated. Seems most Damon products use a stripped down/low cost BCC/battery control center.

According to the website for the charge wizard it is as follows.

Light “ON” all of the time – Indicates the unit is in the BOOST MODE and the converter output voltage is 14.4-volts and is in the process of recharging the battery up to 90% of full charge as fast as possible. This mode is usually automatically selected after dry camping

Light Blinks Rapidly (from once to many times a second) – Indicates the unit is in the NORMAL MODE and the converter output voltage is 13.6-volts. In this mode, the converter is safely completing the charge of the RV battery.

Light Blinks Slowly (every 6-8 seconds) – Indicates the unit is in the Storage Mode and the converter output voltage has been lowered to 13.2-volts. In this mode the RV battery is fully charged and the converter is maintaining the charge, without causing gassing or water loss.

As far as I know, the codes slow blink, fast blink and solid on are only for letting you know what charge state The charge wizard is shifted into. I get no light when the house batteries are discharging and when I am not connected to shore power.

I get all three of those light modes when charging AND all three of those modes when disconnected from shore power, just in reverse order . . . I'm just wondering what stage of discharge they represent?

For many years the engine alternator/generator has charged both house and chassis batteries when the engine is running.

More recently the house converter has done the job for the chassis battery as well. (In fact that is still "Optional" on many models)

I also just put the charge wizard on my 9160 converter. It seems neat, and every body likes it. However if solid green means it getting maximum charge, why do I also get solid green when unplugged and I know darn well it is not getting any charge. Why would they waste my battery current to have that confusing solid green when no 120V is available to charge the batteries.
In other words; If I look at my charge wizard and it shows solid green, how do I know if the batteries are being charged at 14+ volts or if they are just sitting there discharging? If the only way is for me to get my volt meter out, I can see why the charge wizard is only $22.
My first house batteries lasted 6 years with no charge wizard so I'm hoping at least it won't hurt any thing.

I have owned one class C and 3 class A's all of them charged the house batteries when the engine was running. All of them also had the solenoid switch that bypassed the battery isolator and brought the house batteries online that allowed you to start the engine when the automotive battery was low.
