My 2003 P32 Workhorse Daybreak has a "Styrofoam" sounding noise that is from the drivers side around my left foot and dash area. I've often thought it to be the mud guard by brake fluid reservoir. It's only present when driving and with ANY little imperfection in the road surface.

I have solved a lot of other noise problems (dash, tail pipes, ect...), but, this remains a mystery to me.

Anyone have any clues?

So I guess I'm the only Damon owner with this problem?

I guess I'll pull the drivers side carpet and try to see how the Damon house was attached to the Workhorse chassis.

My thought is they left a few screws out!

This may sound stupid but it seems that you think the noise is caused by the "house" moving as opposed to soemthing related to the chassis. I know that when sitting with the jacks up, I can rock the coach body by hand. I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, you could make the noise while someone is inside listening. Like I said, it sounds silly but just maybe.

Trust me any suggestion is not a stupid one. I like your idea. It maybe a good starting point.

I have a 2003 and it has had the "Styrofoam" sound from day one and has gotten worse. It seems to come from the left foot to the bottom of my dash. I wounder if I stopped by the Damon plant that they may have an idea.

Chandler -- Is the carpet glued down?

Hi! No, the carpet is not glued. They put a thin pad down first then lay the carpet on it. They tack the edges down (like along the kitchen floor and outside walls..)and let the cabinets and interior walls do the real work of holding it in place. You can pull the carpet up along the outside walls where it's tacked. (at least on the one's I've seen)

I have the same sound. I think its the long vertical plastic moulding along the left side of the windshield. Try removing it and taking a test drive. Let me know if you ever figure it out. I can live with it but a fix would be nice

No drivers door.

angleman -- I've tried to felt side molding thinking this was the problem. Now I think I'll try pulling, but, I feel it is lower and thinking about it maybe the cables that run in behind are worth looking at.

I usually can find these and this one puzzles me. I still think the floor is missing a few screws. Does anybody know how they attach the floor? Is it screwed to the chassis? Is there a layer of styrofoam?

I don't know if it's still there but on Damons website they had a movie on the building of a coach. They showed the floor going on...don't remember if there was any foam in there...

Yup, it's still there..

I'll check carriage bolts. They do use styrofoam in flooring.
