Hello All,
I had a problem come up this weekend regarding my water pump. When turning the pump on, there is a slight noise like it is trying to run, but it is not pumping water. I assumed that it was just air in the lines, so I opened the faucets and the fill area to allow the air out. This did not work. I opened the drain valve from the fresh water tank (with the tank half full) and nothing came out.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be going on? BTW, we ran the weekend on city water with no problems.
Thanks,
Jason

Is the valve open on the suction line in the basement? There are 2 valves on the line. One to the tank and the other is to winterize the system. Just a thought.

I second what Snowfitter said. I did that exact thing after being winterized. When I went out to drain the anti-freeze out of the lines and turned the pump on, I knew what was wrong. Went out and closed the winterization valve and opened the supply valve. Worth a check. Let us know what you find. John H....

Hi Snowfitter. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the valves are right next to each other so I have tried every combination of those being open/closed.
This may be a situation where the water pump and the inability to drain the tank may be separate issues, but it seems weird that they happened at the same time.

Just to make sure that I am clear, the winterization valve is the one going into the top of the tank, right?

Jason, The winterization valve is the one where you would suck up anti-freeze out of a one gallon jug. It will have a hose coming from it that you can put in the jug. The other valve will be in the same line, but coming from the bottom of the water tank to supply the pump. My drains are on the other side of the MH and are seperate. John H....

My drain valve was clogged. Take a coat hanger and send it up through the valve with the valve open. As for the suction side of the pump, disconnect suction side of pump and send some compressed air back through to clearany shavings that might have settled during assembly. After you put everything back together make sure the winter valve is closed and normal suction valve is open. Good luck!

Thanks for everyone's feedback. It turns out that it was calcium build up in the pump. Once that was cleaned out, it has been running fine.
