Suction cup type srceen works well for us. Have sun visor version that stays up all the time and just mount full screen under it when needed. Wasted a lot of valuable retirement time taking sun visor down - putting full screen up and reverse process at just about every camp site.

We used the type with the suction cup for a few years and it worked OK. When we moved into the coach full time last year we had the sunscreens made for the outside. The amount of heat that was cut down by moving the sunscreen from the inside to the outrside was amazing.

I have it down to about 10 minutes to take down or put up the sunscreens. And they look nice on the front of the coach. They were not cheap but they did cut our electricity bill by over $40 a month during the summer months.

the woodieboys wrote "The amount of heat that was cut down by moving the sunscreen from the inside to the outside was amazing" We found the same to be true when we went with an outside screen. Holds with magnets. Two minutes to put up and two minutes to take down. We love it.

the outside is a good thing but got no metal around the glass and am reluctant to drill holes to add snaps.
is there a good pull down full window heat reflecting shade out there?

We bought from prompt rv shades. No magnets, one man install/takedown. Easy and really helps keep the heat out. Looks good too.

I am in South Florida. My coach faces south west when in our home park. The stock pleated shades do nothing to keep out light and nothing to keep out the heat. I had exterior sun screen shades installed, but with that extreme heat, the A/C units could not keep up with the green house affect we experienced. I tried putting that insulated silver foil on the inside. It worked however it was a pain removing and re-inserting it, however it worked. I purchased a 4ft x 20 ft roll from Camping world. I laid it out on the windshield and cut it to size. I used 6 stick on velcro fasteners and now place the custom fit insulated foil on the window, then snap on the sun screen over it. Problem solved and the coach is as cool as a cucumber.

We got the Magna Shade earlier this year. Not cheap but very well made and sure made a big difference in the front windshield heat.

We copied the Magna-Shade idea and made our own at about 1/3 the cost of their quote. Purchased all the fabric at a tent and awning company and the magnets from KJ Magnetics online. $265 total for windshield and both side windows.
