Had a nice day yesterday ( 56*) and sunny. Took advantage of it and winterized the MH. Drained everything and put in 2 gallons of anti freeze from WM. Also washed the bugs and grime off. Now have to wait for another nice day to cover it. Would much rather be doing the opposite and be uncovering. Oh well, such is life living in western PA. John H...

If the next 4 months go as quickly as the last 4 then you are correct. Seems the older you get, the faster time seems to pass by....

I never use 2 gallons of RV anti-freeze. At most I use about 5 cups a year. I put it in the drains. as far as the lines and faucets, I blow them out with air and that is it. I have been doing it this way for over 11 years and it has never been a problem.
How I blow them out is I use an air chuck that can hold on.
Like this one;
I set the air compressor to 45 pounds and open each faucet one at a time until I no longer see any water vapor when I open them. This includes the low point drains at the end. I already have drained and closed the water heater. (This is a procedure that can be done with or without a water heater bypass kit on the water heater.) I also dis-connect the hose to the shower head. Then I put a cup to a cup and a half in each drain and into the toilet, without flushing, then I am done. As I said before, I have done it this way for 11 years without incident.

I have thought of trying it that way, but have just got comfortable doing it with anti-freeze. I have the adapter for the hose and an air compressor and all that you need to do it, just never have. To each his own, I guess. Too bad we have to do it at all, how about it....

Living out west here in California we use our coach i think more in the winter months than summer out here .......... For us the summer and winter is spent at the coast where its cool and in winter we also hit a lot of local campgrounds with fishing and other exploring options are availible........ I feel bad for all that have to put their coach away for months at a time........

That's a nice fitting. where did you get it?
I really need to try this we like to travel a lot in the late fall and once i put the pink stuff in we cant use the water. blowing them out would be easier/cleaner after each trip.

I am sorry I didn't see this earlier. I can't remember where I got mine however, I have seen them in most automotive stores and auto departments at Walmart K mart and Sears.
Really makes it a breeze to blow out the lines. I set the compressor to 45 pounds and connect it to the city connection until I am done. I follow the method outlined in my owner's manual. In fact, I am probably a little anal in that I do it way more than the owner's manual says.

What's the air chuck holding onto? Looks like a tire stem maybe?

Correct, I bought a brass garden hose adapter
 and replaced the rubber schrader valve with an all brass one available from any auto store.
I have seen them in plastic but opted for the brass.
