I have an interesting problem. Black tank backs up after 2 days of normal use. I go ahead and dump it, but the block still stays in the toliet. I use the sani flush but nothing changes. I then used a flexible wand and the blockage goes away. This time when cleaning out the dump hose I noticed a lot of styrofoam in the hose. My question is twofold, does anyone know of a safe chemical to break the foam down so I don't have to take the tank down or does anyone know the flow path from toilet to dump valves.

i was having the same kind of problem with dumping. i found that filling the black tank to the 2/3 level before using it seemed to cure the problem.unlike my last 2 mhs, it takes more water . the foam is another issue that i haven.t seen. i did seem to have a problem the first couple of uses, and maybe that was some foam that they left in there when it was built. i was thinking maybe the factory had left the hole cutout in the tank, which what several people said could be happening. the black tank seems to be on a great downward angle and i have to have a lot of water in it for the waste to break down and wash out.

Same problem with my Hurricane 32R. The black tank under the toilet is wide and relatively shallow. It gets its capacity from running the full width of the motorhome and only drops down at the drain valve. If you don't use a lot of water to flush then "stuff" is going to pile up under the toilet and in the toilet drain. Make sure you are using the correct 1-ply paper too. I haven't had any more problems since I started using a lot of water to flush. I forgot to mention that I agree with billyb and start out with a minimum 1/3 fill in the tank.

Thanks for the advice. It all makes sense. Now I have another question. Grey tank sensor seems to read full way too fast. Did a test, ran the bathroom sink until water came up through shower drain. At 4 minutes tank read 1/3 full at 12 minutes it read 2/3 full at 16 minutes it read full. The shower drain didn't overflow until 34 minutes. I know these sensor's aren't perfect, but a little closer to reality would be nice. Are these outside or inside sensor's and are they adjustable? Just curious...and again thanks for the advice. We really love this coach!

i'm pretty sure the sensors are not adjustable, and they are hard to get at. i carry a 5 gallon bucket for when we are not on a sewer site and if it starts to come up in the shower drain, i will drain some off into it, and i know i will have to go to the dump station to get rid of the shower water. the black tank will take awhile to fill even when you start out with it half full. i was also interested in how well your coach was made and how many problems you've had. we have had a coachman and a georgiesboy before this unit, and this unit seems to better built then the others i've had.

Actually I have had very few problems. Just some minor things, like crown moulding pieces on the dining slide come off (poor glue jobs) cracked material on the Flexsteel seats both driver and passenger, other than that all is good. I converted the house batteries to two 6volts pretty much right away. I think it is a well built coach, I have friends with new fleetwood's that have had nothing but nightmares with them. Lots of leaking plumbing problems.
