This is first time in here.
Have a question or 2.

Just recently purchased a 1997 Thor-Four Winds Class A. It is Windsport 30Q.
Ford F-53 chassis

My question is about the battery arrangement. Presently have 2 batteries in front on radiator. Both are connected together.
Is this the norm or are one for Chassis and possibly a deep cycle for Coach battery w/ separate wiring?

John hw , Welcome to iRv2.com . Congrats on your new coach 1997 Windsport. if they are wire together they must be the coach batteries., are they deep cycle 12 volts or 6 volts for the coach only ? . but without seeing it , don't know it all depends how they are wire in parallel or series.
But you mention a separate wire it must be one for coach and other for the chassis.. got pic's for all of us to see. that will help alot.

Thanks for reply. I sent Four winds a e-mail asking about the battery set up. Presently the 2 batt are reg 12volt. No deep cycle. From what I believe is that there were only 2 bat when was new. 1-chassis & 1 auxiliary. Sometime in past someone tied them together and left at that. just got e-mail for 4-w there were only 2 bat-1-chassis & 1-aux. Would like to find someone that has same and can confirm.

Camera dead, will send pic if can figure out how

Yes that sounds like someone wired the coach and chassis battery together. They should be seperate. Do you have an auxilery start button on your dash? You probably have done this but, sometimes Coach batteries can be located in odd places. It is unlikely you have 2 chassis batteries from factory.Someone will chime in soon.
