It's been awhile since I've posted. I'm having three problems with my Windsport. FYI 4500 miles.
The first problem is with the black holding tank. After three days in a site, the "mountain" of material under the toilet piles so high that it clogs the toilet. I've tried starting out empty, I've tried starting out with 1/2 tank filled with clean water. There is always a pile that blocks the toilet bowl. Any serious solutions or fixes would be appreciated.

The second problem is with my rear AC 110 volt circuit breaker. It trips whenever the "cool" setting is selected on the thermostat. It does not trip when "Fan" is selected. My front AC circuit breaker works fine. The faulty circuit breaker is a double breaker 15 & 20 amps. Where can I buy a new circuit breaker?

My third problem is that one of the headlight lens has cracked in two places. Where can I get a replacement clear lens?

The head light comes as an assembly and will have to come from the mfg. It is unlikley the circuit breakes is bad but insted is excess current draw. You need to have the ac circuit and compressor inspected.

what i found was that i had to fill the black tank to the 2/3 level, and then we had no real problem when dumping once the tank was full

billyb,
Thanks for the reply. I've been wondering where everyone went.

To clarify, I am not having trouble dumping my black water. The problem is that when I'm camped in a site for 3 to 5 days, the debris piles up in the black tank to the point that it plugs up the toilet bowl. My only solution, and its not a good one, is to stick my tank cleaning wand through the toilet bowl, into the debris, and stir vigorously. This redistributes the pile throughout the black tank. Can you say gross!

I was just wondering if any other Windsport or Hurricane owner has had a similar problem with their RV's?

I will try your suggestion to begin with more water in the Black water tank.
Thanks again, Hrudey

I had a similar problem with a TT when the kids were camping with us. The problem is they did not run enough water which allowed the "material" to remain where it fell. Don't know if that is your problem.

Hrudley - Just so you don't feel alone, I just got back from Disney's Fort Wilderness campground where we stayed for a week. 4 days into the stay, I was doing the exact same thing as you with the wand due to build-up!!

When hooked up to a septic in a campground, should you leave the valves on your black and grey tanks open or shut? Could this make a difference in the "pile"? I was told to keep them shut and drain as needed while still being hooked up.

ocfd 179--thanks for the reply. There is some bizarre comfort in knowing that my Windsport is not the only only unit with "unsightly build-up." I chock it up to poor design by Four Winds. There don't seem to be enough of us with this problem to warrant their attention to resolve our problem.

Another respondent mentioned filling the black water tank about 1/3 with water before sitting stationary in a campsite.

I too keep my black water valve closed. I often camp without sewer hook-ups. Thinking about it your problem is a lot like mine. We both keep our valve closed. The next time you & I have hook-ups, let's try opening the black tank valve.

Ditto on the septic issue. I ahd the same pile of **** build up on the 05 and 06 32Rs we owned. Also on the 05 35D. Has to do with the low profile holding tank used to get the 84" ceiling. Lots of water was the answer and fill 'er up with the black water flush and dump a second time.. I tried the soda and vinaigrette route a couple of times with varied success. as far as the AC goes is very common for the the rear air to be wired to the "wrong" leg of the feed in. Check that the ac breakrs are on opposite sides of the bus and that the neutrals have'nt gotten swapped.

we have a 08 hurricane 32e and we had the same problem at first then we started using more water to flush at least 3/4 toilet bowl full of water and no more build up you need to use more water to push the solids through the pee trap and into the holding tank.you have to realize the toilet bowl is your water holding tank you must fill it to flush solids

Larry--thanks for the information. I'll start flushing with larger volumes of water in the bowl. We've never had this problem with other RV's. We always tried to conserve water and holding tank usage, especially since we primarily boon-dock.

It's disappointing that Four Winds did not see fit to include this "flushing" information in their RV owner's manual. It's a shame that owners have to seek out information from other owners to resolve problems. I'm thankful for forums like this and owners like you to help with these questions.

Odd....as long as there is plenty of fluid down there, you should be good. I have not had that problem in my 34B.... I always leave the black valve closed until ready to dump....

As far as the lens, call Kathy at Four Winds...574-389-5320 - she was very helpful with a few parts I needed. Although they are not kind with shipping - ouch...

Hope this helps.
