I have a 2011 Windsport 32A that has started blowing Fuse #3 (15A) on the bed mounted fuse box every time the porch light switch is turned on.
Is it possible to get the wiring schematic from Thor in order to troubleshoot the problem. The fusebox says it is the purple wire and controls the passenger side. The two overhead lights on each side of the entry door work fine, but as soon as you flip the porch switch on, the fuse blows. Would like to have schematic to find where the ground is located. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated and it is not under warranty.

Step #1. Remove the bulb from the out side light fixture and toggle the switch. Does the fuse blow?

Yep, forget to mention that, with the bulb out, the fuse still blows when you toggle the switch.

sounds like a bare wire, take the socket apart and make sure there are no louse wires. Check the light is grounded and that the light is not grounding against the coach body. An electric tester could tell you a lot also. Could be a weak or defective breaker.

The unit is used, it was bought and kept for about a week and the family returned it for something bigger. We were trying to sell our class "C" and came upon this deal. The price was great, couldn't turn it down, saved a bundle. I have an extended warranty, but figured I would try and figure this out myself before I take it in. I know there is a ground in the porch light circuit, When I get a chance, I will look at the fuse panel, some people have suggested there could be a loose wire on the back of the panel. Thanks for all the suggestions and help, this web site has been terrific and there is a wealth of knowledge in which to access..

BTW TNCRUISER, I almost bought a VE280, but the dealer here in NC couldn't agree on a price and trade in valve for mine.
How do you like yours, the one we were trying to get was nice.

Being that new of a unit it should come as no surprise that there might be a pinched/shorted wire for that circuit when they were installing something else and grounded it out.

The only thing the schematic might help with is to give you an idea of where the power wire goes so you can trace it down and give as much of the wire as possible a visual inspection for where it might be pinched or show you different points/connections where you might be able to check the circuit with an ohm meter.

i did get somewhat of a wiring layout page from tom overton at fourwinds, but it really didn't help much. they really don't want to be bothered about schematics or such, and its a shame. the best thing to do is think it thru and dig into it yourself. perserverance. call fourwinds and ask for him, he has been a good guy to talk to.

Yeah, That's one of things we like about our Windsport, it has full body paint, and I agree, it makes the RV look really nice. I will give Four Winds a call and see if I can get a schematic, If not I will just try to trace it myself and see if I can isolate the ground. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year.

One of my biggest regrets on my recent purchase of a Four Winds product (2006 Windsport) has been lack of documentation. I started with T. Overton, he told me he couldn't find any documents. I went over his head and before you know it, I had what passed as plumbing and electrical and structural prints. The electrical diagrams suck but are better than nothing. I miss having Winnebago support.

Probably and cheaper and better solution than Four Winds or their dealers could provide.
