2012 Infinity Travel Trailer Recall

FYI: Dutchmen Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling 92 model year 2012 Infinity Travel Trailers, because the 12 volt main wiring in the front bulkhead compartment is incorrectly routed. This circuit is not protected by an auto reset breaker, and in the event of a short or ground, could result in a fire.

Dealers will install an additional auto reset breaker to the bus bar and connect the power feed for the hydraulic pump system to the added breaker, which will give it the required over current protection. This service will be performed free of charge. Owners may contact Dutchmen at 1.574.537.0700.

The Infinity replaced the Grand Junction model, this year. We were at the Dutchmen service center last Nov. to have some work performed, and the shop manager showed us two of the prototype Infinity 5ers. The absent circuit breaker is such a simple omission, with such devastating potential. I hope no-one has a loss before they have the recall work performed.

We just picked our new Infinity up on the 11th of July, so far nothing about a recall. We haven't gone out in it yet. Still customizing the this 'n' that, so much more room in this one, we have a choice of where to put things. I really hate having to leave it at the dealer with our stuff in there. But since we work, we don't have much choice. Guess we will have to wait until they call. Thanks for the heads up.

We picked our 2012 Infinity 5th wheel on July 26, 2012 and we love it so far. We are on the road for 2 months but its on my list to have looked at ASAP. Thanks for the info.

Well Camping World has really dropped the ball. We called to make an appointment to get this fixed. Was told to bring it in a week later. I recited the numbers for the recall when I phoned. Dropped it off, telling them we needed to have it back in 9 days to get it ready for planned vacation. The day before we wanted to pick it up they finally looked at it. And we were assured if we left it there until Monday, the absolute last day we could leave for vacation, they would fix the recall and one of the slides we had problems with. LIES! On Monday when we got there we were told the parts for the recall wouldn't be in for 7 days! And they hadn't fixed anything on our warranty list. Mostly cosmetic stuff we fixed ourselves, but the slide and recall were not fixed.
